People can watch and chat, but it's not true multiplayer. So if Arnold were to play, he would have control of the game. At any point,...

From what I understand, there are servers around. Though it's possible to set up your own server to host games. I'd offer to set a server up, my box is certainly powerful enough hardware-wise, but I have a crappy third-world connection that I doubt will be fast enough.

I used the GIMP to create a basic terrain mask, Wilbur to erode the terrain and make it look more realistic (better mountains, canyons, rivers, etc...), Terragen for the actual animation, FFMPEG to stitch all the images together, the GIMP again...

I'm considering giving it a whirl, but the time difference problem prolly means I won't be able to join in any Slime Salad games unfortunately.

Still, looks like fun, I'll have a looksee.

Hah! :v:

Yeah, perhaps I'm being a teensy-weensy bit overambitious in that sense, hehehe.

Indeedy, this discussion is done.

Now... On to the next development arc, npc favor!

What I'm curious about is just how much is buildable in-game? That picture for example, which parts are static, and which can be constructed by players? Sounds spiffy though. Edit: Oh, and what do you control? A single entity like in Minecraft? Or an omniscient and omnipotent tyrannical megalomaniac...

Dwarf Fortress Thread

So, took the advice from the Minecraft thread and started a Dwarf Fortress thread.

Anywho... Main reason I started this thread is to ask, has anyone ever tried this? Only just stumbled upon it now with my inane Internet wanderings.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thin you would make attack 1: Attack 1 Elemental Bitsets: Normal Damage Math: Normal Extra Damage: 0% Chaining: 10% chance to go to Attack 2 Attack 2 Elemental Bitsets: Critical Damage Math: Normal Extra Damage: 200% So if you have your enemy who dies on getting hit with the...

If I'm understanding the thread correctly, you'd have to go to your Global Text Strings and rename one of the elements:

Beardthar Beardthar runs at the lizardfolk, taking a swing at the druid. Beardthar: 6 + 2 + 1 = 9 Miss! The blow goes wild though, and utterly misses the druid. Dire Badger The dire badger, seeing Beardthar run at the druid, follows suit. It skirts Akbar, and tries to attack the lizardfolk druid. D...
