17 Peach Street Dev Thread

So, here's my dev blog/thread for my entry into Momoka's one dungeon game contest. I decided against using a dungeon from Legacy, as I don't think I could convey any amount of story from Legacy using only a single dungeon. Instead, I've gone and made a new game, one that will be a lot shorter. I exp...

Right, so I decided against entering a dungeon from Legacy into this and instead went with making a completely separate rpg. I will, however, be using Legacy graphics and some of the scripts from Legacy. The title of this new rpg is, "17 Peach Street" and is about a boy trying to save his ...

Hehe, pretty much the same as my reaction when I first used it. Stick with it though, it's pretty nifty and can do as much as Photoshop. Well, almost as much :v:

Why not give the GIMP a go? It's available on Windows, and with a little practice, it's not too difficult.

Hmm, yes, that is true. I hadn't thought of that. So, perhaps the second category, but restricted to VoM graphics?

How's about this then: Category 1: HotOHR Preview In this category, a single dungeon from your HotOHR entry is released. It is judged on the criteria mentioned in this thread, and a winner is chosen. No prizes are given for this category, as it's primarily a prestige/critique thing. Category 2: Stan...

Everyone succeeded their move silently rolls. And the zombies weren't specifically looking for you.

You brace yourselves for an attack, expecting the zombies to break through the door at any minute. You wait for it... ... ... and the attack doesn't come. You chance a quick peak out the door, and see that the zombies, eight of them, have walked straight past the door and continue on down the hall. ...

Character Dialogue So, now that I've gotten the first two dungeons fixed, I've been fleshing out all of my NPCs and their dialogue trees. Yes, I'm going with dialogue trees rather than NPCs who are forever cursed to have but a single line of dialogue. Most of their sprites are done, though I still ...

Analyzing the books, you find that most of them are concerned with the genealogy of wizards and sorcerers. One name keeps popping up among the titles, "ul Berec." The books on religion and deities though, are mostly about very old gods and religions. Based on the titles, you're guessing re...

I agree with Meowskivich, it has more of a "stand and fight" feel to it rather than being chased. Doesn't really have that sense of urgency that a chase would have. But aye, still a nifty piece.

I agree, posting a single dungeon from your HotOHR game would indeedy be great publicity. Would also provide for some valuable feedback. That will be hard to administrate. How will you deal with prizes, voting/judging, etc. Are there even enough active members to warrant having multiple categories? ...
