Wow, I missed that message a week ago that you were getting on a plane - it's happened! Hope you're settled into the new home. Now you only have to spend the next months (or years) unpacking boxes - if you're like anyone I know, the number of boxes left to unpack never reaches zero! (It's nice to ha...

Err, yes, being honest, that's why I don't know recent OHR games that well either. I might still spend more time playing OHR games than non-OHR games, though... probably played zero of the last 40 games I've "purchased" on Steam, GoG or Humble Bundle (is it a purchase if it's practically f...

Phew. But the wiki still isn't fully working: you can't edit pages, whether you're logged in or not. You get: "Error from line 20 of /home/james_paige/rpg.hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/extensions/ConfirmEdit/includes/ConfirmEditHooks.php: Class 'QuestyCaptcha' not found"

Yes, or some other way to give compelling characters (and their games) some attention. I feel like I know characters from now-ancient games like Bob Surlaw and Monterey Penguin, but hardly any from more recent games.

Huh, wow, interesting project to be involved in.
Is there any precedent for people successfully selling $1000 pieces of equipment on KS? I don't see why it couldn't work, though.

BTW, the website seems to have a lot of instances of randomly mixed lower/titlecase in the bullet point lists.

Use an instead-of-battle script. This script is called for random battles triggered by the foemap. (If you want to trigger a battle from a textbox, you would have to make the textbox call a script instead of using the Battle conditional). The script receives two arguments: the battle formation and t...

Thanks! Fixed. The only things in the Box Appearance menu that's not meant to be copied is the music and restore music settings (because those would typically be set only on the first and last textboxes in a chain of boxes). This time I checked that everything else really is copied.

Yes, he said he's from Gun-pigs. I'd forgotten all about this; it looked cool but after 2 years without Froginator posting on this forum, I have to say the chances aren't good... But hey, I used to think that anything that hasn't been touched in a couple years is long dead, but now I've got heaps of...

Occasionally there is a some small problem in nightlies that needs your attention when you want to shift to a newer stable build or nightly. If so, we'll mention it in IMPORTANT-nightly.txt. Other than that, you can always freely upgrade to a more recent version.

Yes, that's the same bug I mentioned which puts the enemy cursor and attack graphics in the wrong position: sprite slices are the wrong size. A single bug causing many symptoms. I'll go fix it now.

Are you telling me that giant orb is an NPC?

As a programmer, I like "indexed palettes" more, though I think to a layperson it might make little sense. But subpalette is much shorter.

Well, James is moving to Canada currently (I forget when exactly - did he actually say?), so immediately after he finishes moving would be the perfect time to release Fufluns. That way people will draw the obvious conclusion, assuming that James' move was holding up release, rather than me being tot...

As in, "N" is part of the name, not standing for the number of colors? We do sometimes refer to master palettes as 256-color palettes though, so drawing attention to the number of colours might be confusing. Another idea: sprite palettes. But that could be confusing if we allow sprites to ...
