Well, it's a goal of this engine to avoid scripting whenever some feature that would be useful to plenty of people could be builtin instead. This reminds me that I already implemented zone-based pathfinding costs, on James' suggestion, but didn't check it in to svn since I still wasn't happy that zo...

Yes, a wide variety of zone triggers (and especially scripts and sounds) was the reason for adding zones in the first place, but it's something I never got around to. NPC movement zones was something I only thought of later. And also triggers when NPCs enter/leave/each-step/are inside. I hadn't thou...

BTW Bird, you should write "if (timestamp >= smithready)" instead of "if (timestamp > smithready)", because that script might display "Give me some more time! 0 more minutes!" Also, it's possible to combine the contents of the 'else' block into one line: string sprintf&...

You can use this script by James to work out what day of the week it is. If you want to allow something (e.g. a making a wish) only every real-world hour, you can do something like this: global variable, begin 100, last wish hour 101, last wish day end plotscript, make a wish, begin # Technically yo...

He can't be the only madman around here. You're probably mad too, and as unaware of it as Tommy. When was the last time you had a cup of coffee? A hot chocolate? Tea?! This store is a joke! Well, definitely take the gun and some compatible ammo, you'll be needing that. Hopefully your raw materials a...

If you're going down a blind path towards possible danger, better take every precaution in case it's not a survivor. Things are getting much worse than just beavers. Park the car as close as possible and leave the engine running.

(Wow, I haven't played in Cataclysm in so many years that I'd totally forgotten about it. Nice!) Check whether any of the police cars are usable, and how much petrol is in them. They probably use petrol rather than diesel, and you don't have anything to siphon or store the fuel, but it's good to kee...

What are playtesters for if not to play unbalanced games?

Yes, I hadn't even noticed how nicely the grid-breaking was done, because I didn't notice any grid!
However, you do have no variantion, so it does look pretty plain. The texture on the lava is so subtle that it looks like it's just red.

I don't know whether Sombra is a villian or just bad tempted, but either way that sprite is full of personality! Lots of great artwork here. Love Cliftin too. One thing that does bother me about Sombra is that both straps attached to his eyepatch go up, as if it's hanging loose. Normally the straps ...

Skeletal magma eel?
If you get unlikely, it could appear right beneath you? But maybe not impossible to react in time. Good for keeping players on their toes!

On that note, it would be nice if the upload date for each download was shown. You can only see the modified time for the game description, but have to rely on the downloads count to figure out whether any of the uploads were changed. Often people just modify the description. Of course, if people ar...

Great! This is a good step towards making browsing for games more interesting, giving games a better chance to sell themselves. It's too bad that so many games, even serious ones, have no screenshots! I just can't understand the thinking behind it. (On the other hand I hope huge gifs don't become co...

If you're checking your layering that way I hope you're at least making use of the Shift-Tab run-fast debug key!

Re: Vikings Revamp 2019

It's been wonderful to see work on VoM resume and move foward so surprisingly quickly! In fact, I'm now in something of a race to finish it up before the next big engine update (fingers crossed)! Oh, it's on! Except I think you must be thinking of the G* release, since you suggested Gleipnir? (5) Ov...
