2012's thread is loaded with dead images, though I kept backups Can you upload them somewhere? Which threads should we be backing up right now? Also, on testing attachments I'm disappointed to see that they are scaled to a maximum of 320x200. It seems that I'm going to stick to uploading them elsew...

Site rules limiting what attachments can be used for are totally justifiable.

Still would be nicer if attachments could be interspersed with text. Hopefully the resemblance to image boards to wear off anyway.

If this feature is ever considered, I also think it would be best if there was an option to make the 1x1 pixel, lighten the pixel below it too. I'm quite amused. You missed that the main reason for moving to a higher bitdepth is that we can add alpha transparency. Also, what you described are addit...

You can parent the slice to a number of different textbox slices. Attaching it to the box means that it will be positioned relative to the box, of course. You can also attach it to the outermost container of the textbox (sl:textbox root) or to the "textbox layer" slice (sl: textbox layer) ...

I have no idea either. But you can press Ctrl+F11 to more easily show where all NPCs are, even if disabled.

Oh, you actually use multiple master palettes? That's almost unheard of. Do you keep part of the master palette the same for use by hero sprites? Or do you have multiple versions of all the sprites too? Higher bitdepth has been the plan for such a long time (Jay was working on it years ago). I'm ter...

I know the newest nightly had some features related to this, which I discovered too late in the process to really test IIRC the ability to easily change what gets imported as transparent only applies to 16 colour sprites. The reason I do this is to create maps which have little to no repetition, th...

Okay, maybe I should clarify this after all (using 2010 as an example) OK, I see that I did misunderstand. You know what, I actually think that this rule is quite fair. I'm in favour of classifying Ruin as a new game. I don't agree with the name change as a necessity; really that's just a proxy/tes...

OK. I wasn't complaining the way Chip's portrait is drawn at all. However it does seem rather inconsistent with the in battle and walkabout graphics. Walkabout graphics don't matter because they're tiny, but since battle sprites are higher res I guess you could focus on those if you wanted to.

Hurrah!

I think this 2/3rds margin is a pretty big penalty to games that receive fewer votes. E.g. a game with 13 votes averaging 6 beats one with 11 votes averaging 7.

For some reason I thought that James isn't this year offering bounties on bugs/features that he doesn't complete.

Embedded images are possible, of course -- they're already enabled in Reviews and Games -- but I haven't enabled them elsewhere because the abuse potential seems to outweight the demand. If there's demand for it, though... S$4000 I would pay the bounty. But I hoping for the ability to display full ...

This all looks great. I like Chip's portrait; the strange black marks on his skin (does he have skin?) look exactly like strange black marks and not like artist error. The addition of the shadows especially is a big improvement to the depth of the maps. I really like the view of the landscape far be...

I haven't played any of the games, but I looked at Meow's video. I was surprised that the video makes it seem fairly easy (e.g. usually not many enemies) perhaps just because he know all the secrets and tricks. Regarding my own game, I worked on it last weekend as I said I would and got a big chunk ...

2014 Indie Game Development Contest

Saw this on CP so posting it here too. June is apparently National Game Development Month and RPG Maker are hosting an indie game making contest with a number of large cash prizes. http://contest.rpgmakerweb.com/ Might be of interest to people around here! It's not restricted to RPG Maker (you can u...
