So alt-enter works fine, but some kind of accidental keypress causes a fatal X11 error. How miserable, and hopeless. I guess you can try playing with your window manager settings. Would help to first figure out what keys you're pressing. Really surprising that gfx_fb doesn't fullscreen or clip to sc...

Re: Let's talk about a stable release: etheldreme
High hopes!
We expect to declare the release candidate a week before release.
I get the feeling that I can change whatever I want, and noone will complain :)

Oh, I misread. I thought you were pressing alt-enter on purpose. That's the key combo to switch between windowed and fullscreen. So attempting to switch always crashes? What if you try to switch in Game? Or using the in-game menu options? Also, what if you switch to gfx_fb (eg use ctrl+f8) and then ...

Parenting slices to a hero or npc walkabout slice will work fine (provided your slices appear about at the same position as the hero/npc), because those slices get positioned correctly. For the same reason, walktall works fine on wrapping maps. The script I provided to fix the wrapping isn't going t...

Actually, it's more complicated than that. Map wrapping is really hard to get right. This is a deficiency in the engine, which I do want to fix. NPC and hero slices appear over the edges of a wrapping map because the engine does some special voodoo with their positions to make it work. Other slices ...

Sorry, you can't reparent hero or NPC slices to anything else. We're cautious with allowing slice tree manipulations that could possibly end up being painful to support back-compatibly in future. However, it's very common that people want to reparent heroes/NPCs, so I think we should try to allow it...

Re: My protagonists walk about
Wow! Impressive. Bu the different sizes, looks like they're from different projects. Are you actively working on Mirrored Soul Gaiden, or another game? Thats if I can get the code to extend the frames and size :v: Cool! I count that that workabout is about 24x64. The walktall script only allows 24x3...

Sorry; I did want to play through it and write some more; I know I'm being very tardy. I have way too many distractions. Honestly, the first time through I just selected Normal because I was lazy and didn't want to read all the difficulty descriptions closely. Renaming them would have forced me to m...

I found the hidden area when James wandered into it. I guess that was the only way anyone would have found it, since of course CUSTOM.EXE wasn't available. Just in the last decade*, Awful Waffle actually made two different Dragonball Z games, which were actually quite decent aside from being short a...

100kB jpegs??? You monster! I remember that on 56k it took over half an hour to download 10MB. A 10MB demo of some Total War RTS game was the biggest thing I ever downloaded. Holding up the phoneline for most of an hour! Of course, 56k was the fastest dialup speed, and sometimes the connection would...

You really have to see the graphics in context - as part of a screenshot - to know if they're too small or not. They have to be in proportion to the resolution of the whole screen. Did you show people a screenshot or just the individual sprites? And, of course that sprite looks small in that screens...

I also only finally realised that icon was a hamster head a couple years ago! It seems so obvious now, but I was never able to recognise anything in it. I thought it looked like a log with some bits sticking out of it, maybe a collection of bones or a strange instrument. Grimli (and also Dusty) only...
