What are you struggling with? Creating the slice collection in the slice editor, or the coding? The code I posted was almost complete; the only thing it's really missing (aside from the getherostat commands) is the "free slice(collection)" which you would put at the end, to get rid of the ...

I ran Etheldreme through VirusTotal. It doesn't include AVG anymore. No scanners had a problem with custom.exe. Baidu claimed game.exe had a trojan. Another scanner flagged wget.exe in the minimal zip as unsafe, and two more reported something in two of the other .exes in the full zip file... but I ...

You can use embed codes in menu item captions. But if you want them to work in text slices, then you need to manually expand them using the "expand string" command. Yes, basestat is the stat without equip bonuses, and also before stat caps are applied. So, you can create a slice collection...

Autorun script? Do you mean each-step? You may also want to set this as the on-close script for the main menu (although that won't run if you use the Equip option in a shop)
(And in Etheldreme there are now global map script triggers, no need to set the same script on every map)

Actually, non-tile-based walking isn't something which I was planning to work on all that soon, although I think it deserves a high priority (and I know I said so recently). I don't know what James's plans are, though. He's been keeping quiet. :)

I see you've already installed suitably sized doors! That screenshot does look a lot better with the adding of shadows. And potted trees replace potted office plants!

Then it seems that that .rpg file really is corrupted. But I guess older versions used the default master palette if it was missing. I can do that.

I love playing the ancient Wandering Hamster demo. So just how backwards-compatible are we with the stuff somewhere in the middle? That old demo was easy to support because it uses so few engine features. I haven't done any testing recently, but would like to hear about any old games that no longer...

Argh, virus scanners; the bane of software developers! Can you give more information? Did you download both versions as a full zip file, a minimal zip file, or as an installer .exe? If you use the installer, does the installer run? Does AVG prevent both custom.exe and game.exe from running? What is ...

I'll have to check the stable release to see if it's still the same way or if it's been fixed since the version I've been using, but one oddity I did notice in one of the nightlies I tried out was that copying and pasting within the engine now turns special characters from the font into question ma...

Last last thing! http://tmc.castleparadox.com/pics/wallstamp.gif I decided to call the new wallmap drawing tool Draw instead of Line, and instead tweaked Draw and renamed it Stamp. This one is useful for both keyboard and mouse controls. You select a wall bit or "all" and then draw with it...
