Nice! I was going to guess some kind of enemy AI, I was sort of close-ish.

It looks great :)

The nice thing about a 2 person game is that keeping up doesn't matter much. You can leave and come back whenever without falling behind. I love the idea of the 3 foot drop out the door. That high enough to have fun with, but low enough that a kid probably won't break their neck https://i.imgur.com/...

Haha! I knew clipboard might be anachronistic when I wrote it, but I didn't realize how badly. Now I imagine that Tip's clipboard is a simple artifact, enchanted with some cheap necromancy. Affixed to the top of the board is a single skeletal finger from an animated skeleton. It perpetually grips, h...

Hyne is in a small room with two bunks. The bunk's bedframes are built right into the wall, and seems like the work of a master carpenter. Nothing on the bedframe squeaks or rattles, neither on the lower bunk or the upper bunk. At the foot of each bunk is a small flat chest, also built right into th...

"An unfortunate way to go," he muses, "sounds like he left a lot of good memories during his time alive, though." When asked if he would like to continue, he answers, "Well.. is there anyone else I should know about before I head to bed?" Caskbow smiles at Hyne's words...

In past years I offered bug-fixes and small feature requests to everybody who finished-- I won't do that this year because my free time is badly limited right now, and I wasn't that great at delivering in previous years, but I will at least offer one reasonably-sized bug-fix or feature-request to th...

"Ah, bless that fine man's soul" says Caskbow, a far-away look flashing across her eyes, "It was the Winter Fever that weakened him, and a bout of the Melancholia that finished him. That were... let me see... six years ago this spring." And then with a wink she adds, "But I ...

"Oh, I've been diving all my life. I may not have gills like my cousins, but I might as well. I know a cantrip to hold my breath for 20 minutes, which is longer than a Dolphin!" she says proudly. At the mention of Oxnar's skirt chasing, Tip chuckles and makes a mark on her clipboard. "...

Tip smiles. She seems pleased that Hyne wants to talk. "I would be happy to tell you about your crew-mates" she says. "First, you should make friends with Marly, if you can. She's the woman with the eye-patch, and I figure she's the best sailor on the ship." "The young gentl...

I feel like Fire Emblem style tactical RPGs are still solidly RPGs.

(And I would be delighted to see more OHR games in that style!)

"Rest, Stormeel, Rest! You've earned it" Captain Crawford tells Hyne. Below decks, Hyne finds that many of the 10 small bunk rooms are occupied by at least one pirate or mer-folk who either had the same idea as Hyne, or were already resting. Each of the 10 tiny rooms has two bunks. 2 rooms...

This idea reminds me a bit of Kana Learning by Ysoft http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=967 So how to shuffle a menu or some slices? Suppose you have just created a menu with four items, and now you want to shuffle it up randomly: variable(i, a, b) for(i, ...

Mouse controlled battles kinda seem like you'd be giving the enemies a handicap against you with how much longer it takes to target attacks vs. just a couple of spacebar presses (I imagine it would work a lot better with the turn-based mode, but without the pause during targeting it'd be pretty rou...

This means good things for touch screen support too! Your can tap to click. On most menus you can tap outside the menu rectangle to close it like you would with ESC. You can also right click to close menus, and on a touch screen, a two-finger tap closes. On long menus like the Inventory screen, you ...
