script profiling

TMC just implemented a nifty new feature for advanced plotscripters. Script profiling! Profiling dumps a report into your g_debug.txt file that shows how much time was spent on each of your scripts. If you are working on a sidescroller or a non-standard battle system, or anything else that is heavil...

Haven't had much play time lately, so I haven't finished yet (although I am glad to be able to do so now on the updated version)

I did just read "Corporate Irony". Ouch. Poor guy. You think Corporate would have upped the insurance on the building after all that, but nooo :(

Don't know if it's been reported or not, but I was able to clip outside of the walls by holding down spacebar to fire lots and lots of bubbles, and holding up to bounce off of them and right through the ceiling. I'm watching Bob fall forever now, while the enemies futilely try to get him. It's real...

When is the voting deadline? I am not sure if I will be able to finish everything this weekend. It has been hard to find free playing time lately :P

Oops! I didn't propely test it out before posting. I'll try to fix it if I can, and if I can't, I'll record my "second impressions" instead :)

STRANDED - Review & Video First Impression

STRANDED is a really pretty looking game. I am impressed by New-Gen's careful palette selection, and I like the overall art style. This game shines for its unique interface. Instead of the standard menu, it uses a icon-based menu-bar at the bottom, which is a really nice touch. The unique battle sys...

Slime Wars - Review & Video First Impression

Slime Wars is very polished. The mechanics of the game are quite simple, but the interface is really well put together, and the 8-bit NES style is spot-on through and through. The music is exactly the type of music that I remember from NES games of my childhood that used to make my Mom call out &quo...

The DON'T EAT SOAP bugs thread

This is where I am going to track bugs for DON'T EAT SOAP. If you spot anything that isn't listed here, let me know. ---------- * Too many bubbles causes massive slowdown ---------- * When there are too many bubbles, and you have sufficiently massive slowdown, the game crashes when popping them all ...

The number of fairly shady websites that link to wandering hamster is huge. Such sites generally just want to link to lots of stuff to get their own traffic higher to make more from ads.

Maces Wild - Review & Video First Impression

I had some fun with this game. Maces Wild does not attempt to be anything other than an RPG-- exactly what the OHRRPGCE is designed to make. I got a kick out of the dialog in this game. There were a lot of puns that made me groan, but overall the wacky nonsensical background story, and the silly thi...

Entrepreneur: The Beginning - Review & Video Impression

I normally try to strictly limit myself to just the first 10 minutes of gameplay for these first-impression videos, but in this case, 10 minutes was only enough to get me through the intro, and having playtested this game a little, I knew the real rich and creamy coffee was to come, so I did the who...

Team selection is confusing to me. It seems frightfully complex. I could handle the monster teams because there were so few choices... but here I am just overwhelmed.

Indigo - Review & Video First Impression

Indigo is proof of the OHRRPGCE's growing utility as a platform for making... platformers! I had some initial confusion about my character's abilities. It took me a while to learn how to use my reflect-enemy-rays ability, and I did not immediately realize I could stomp on enemies heads mario-style, ...

Light Fight - Review & Video First Impression

Light fight is a short game, almost just a tech demo. it doesn't do a whole lot-- but what it does do it does with STYLE! Time travel from over fifty thousand years in the future? Yes! Beings of pure energy? Yes! Chuck Norris? Yes! Jump Kicks? ...No. But that is okay, because the standing kicks are ...
