Great article. Fenrir-Lunaris's artwork in monsterology is spectacular! I am looking forward to Viridia now. And thank you all for the obscene amount of votes that Don't Eat Soap received :) Although I think that the fact that I won is eroding the OHRRPGCE community's SECRET COMMUNISM. I am hard at ...

I like having a crappy by easy to steal item, and then putting the more interesting stealable in the rare item slot. From an item value perspective it may be the same as a single low-success-rate item, but it feels more satisfying.

Okédoké! - Review & Video First Impression

Okédoké! is a really solid entry. The graphics are great, and very faithful to NES style. (Actually, I think Pepsi Ranger's comparison to Game Boy Color style may be even more apropos) In terms of gameplay mechanics, this is an OHRRPGCE RPG clean and simple... at first I thought a little too simple....

That is pretty cool. I like the detailed-yet-brief changelog for Powerstick man. I guess I do something similar with Wandering Hamster using subversion commit messages ------------------------------------------------------------------------ r2668 | james | 2009-04-12 22:52:25 -0700 (Sun, 12 Apr 2009...

The funny thing is that the consequences get much worse if you keep the lifestyle going.
Suddenly I feel motivated to turn back to my life of crime >:)
If only to see how much worse it can get.

Stealing is so easy. I was carefully watching my persuasion skill, and stealing as much as I could from each store each morning. The life of crime was a good one. I was making more and more money with my better ingredients, and I wasn't having to pay for anything! Then, suddenly, BAM! I was caught! ...

Regarding Okédoké: The portraits aren't NES-style. You're using at least one color too many in all of them. I like your graphics style, though. The ghost in particular looks great. Meatballsub okayed the full 16 color palette for portrait sprites in a <a href="http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/v...

I haven't feedbacked on Mr Triangle's Maze because I was saving it for last. It seems like a lot of games do get released in an episodic manner-- first demo, second demo, almost complete, complete. Actually presenting them as episodes might be a good thing. I think that breaking a game up into episo...

The Wizard the Thief and the Lich - Review & Video

It takes guts to take a month long contest and do a 24 hour entry, and apparently Momoka had those guts. The Wizard the Thief and the Lich reminds me of the old days of the OHR, back when designers were limited to 4 maps. This game uses three maps actually. It is obviously thrown together as a joke ...
