Meh

(review originally posted in <a href="http://superwalrusland.com/ohr/issue37/cover.html">HamsterSpeak issue 33</a>) Meh is a celebration of that hellish job that we have all had to do at some point in our lives (my own involved distributing coupons for $1 off pie). This game focuses on th...

So far they have raised $968,977 on this bundle.

I <a href="http://forums.wolfire.com/viewtopic.php ... 3">read</a> that if they exceed $1,000,000 they have promised to release the source code of Gish, Penumbra, and Lugaru!

The source code!

When I have the battle system code cleaned up sufficiently, i hope to embed a test battle into the enemy/hero/attack editors. You would easily be able to swap in/out heroes and enemies, and there would be no waiting between turns, so you could rapidly test attacks in different scenarios. Don't expec...

@Mystic Ark: My cousin reads a little Japanese, and I remember him playing this and raving about it years back. I am delighted to hear there is finally a translation patch for it :) I am going to offer some love for the Quest For Glory series of PC point-and-click adventure games. They had a stronge...

...There's also the ones who do what we call "chinese vampire walking" - where their feet remain stationary and they zip around the store. !!!! I hope they are wearing those wheelie shoes, because if not that sounds scary as hell. The backwards clothes guys DO HAPPEN. Shoes too with one d...

- The multiplication table section was a chore and a half. I would love to think of some extra added incentive to make that part more fun. Really, i think the multiplication tables mode is the single most important mode in the game. Multiplication tables are the single most important rote repetitiv...

When you get chance to take a break and walk around, there should be a chance that after a certain amount of time the boss will walk in and berate you for not being at your register (in spite of the fact that no customers are present) Also, the guy who assumes that because you work there you have en...

What errors? I think I played until the room was completely full, and I saw no errors. I would like to see if any engine bugs that need fixing are involved.

In all honesty, James... I've only gotten to the second-digit addition area. Sorry. For some reason my brain shuts down when I play video games. I sat there for nearly a minute and a half while trying to figure out 8+7. That reminds me of my other question. Has anybody seen "Count it Out"...

I am curious if anybody has unlocked all the modes in Mr The Hamster's Math Class. If you saw the end credits scroll, then you did everything.

I am reconsidering having things locked at all. When I release the next update, I think I will leave everything unlocked by default.

Plugging the Humble Indie Bundle

I have to plug this. The Humble Indie Bundle is a collection of 5 indie games that run on Windows/Max/Linux. They are selling them with a pay-what-you-want scheme, wish portions going to the EFF and to the Childs's Play charity. http://www.wolfire.com/humble * World of Goo - I had already played thi...

Yes, HamsterMath *definitely* requires the latest nightly wip build. it even requires a few features and fixes that I added while the contest was in progress. This is mainly because it makes very heavy use of the new "load slice collection" command, as well as requiring the new commands fo...
