BMR wrote:Speaking of which, what does everyone prefer? Map combat? Or free-form map-less combat?
I like having the map as a reminder of where everybody is and who is still standing, but personally I like to *think* of the battle in a more free-form way

Yeah, I don't really know java either, but you only need to be able to read and write the tree structure to/from a file. There is no need to exactly re-create reload's tree-structure with java, since you can just use some existing java tree structure. (We don't have that luxury in FreeBasic, but I w...

It's your turn Beadrdthar Oops! Sorry to zone out there! Along with my move, I also queued what Beardthar thinks he will probably do next turn, just in case I zone out again (which hopefully won't happen) BMR: Are you okay with describing commands a little ahead of the current turn in the interest ...

Beardthar moves towards the room full of goblins, but takes care to remain behind Viseh. It makes sense to let the crazy man take the brunt of the arrows and thrown spears if he seems so happy to do it. His plan right now is to let Viseh lead the way, and then use his quarterstaff to pummel any gobl...

Frowning, and trying to remember exactly what was said previously about the first volley of arrows, Beardthar and Rock-head reluctantly follow the others.

Beardthar whispers to his badger to stay behind him, but it is not at all clear whether Rock-head understands this instruction

Beardthar looks at the symbol, but shakes his head, and tells Peanut Doesn't mean anything to me Beardthar picks up one of the studded leather armors that looks as if it will fit, and puts it on. He can't avoid dislodging Rock-head when he does this, and Beardthar shushes the badger, trying to keep ...

I equipped a quarterstaff based on the table <a href="http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm">here</a>, but I am not sure what to put in the <a href="http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/profiler/view_char.php?cid=36764">total attack bonus</a> slot. Also, feeling lost abo...

Beardthar says to Peanut, I hope I am wrong, but I think we are going to have to go and fight in front of that crowd in a matter of seconds.

He grabs the quarterstaff, and takes a look at the armor, trying to quickly decide which of it, if any, would do him the most good.

if you just need the variable to exist in the current script, then you do: variable&#40;sl&#41; but if you need it to be shared between all scripts, you do: global variable&#40;0, sl&#41; where 0 is a unique id that can't be the same for any two variables. Also, if it is a global, yo...

Beardthar feels relieved to see a familiar face. and gives Peanut a nod and a smile. Wherever this place is, Beardthar is glad that the floor feels solid under his feet. After all that time in the slave ship, he hopes he never sets eyes on more than a single flagon of water at one time again. He fin...

I've been trying to figure out how to use slices as a method of displaying pages for a bestiary myself...my only real issue is how to close the slice after opening it.... The <a href="http://hamsterrepublic.com/ohrrpgce/docs/plotdict.xml#about-freeslice">free slice</a> command will remove...
