The whole argument about effort being part of the definition of art is really interesting. It is true that most art does involve a lot of work, but that isn't what makes it art. Kinda like how most Chili has meat, but it isn't the meat that defines what Chili is ;) There is another end to that spect...

This is cool! I would be interested to see your map generation code if you are willing to post it.

Are you doing this with the OHRRPGCE or programming it some other way? (your screenshot doesn't give me sufficient clues to know)

This is an interesting concept for a game, and although I am not likely to be able to contribute anything other than a few enemy sprites, I am still excited by the project. I hope nobody will mind if I share a few of my own semi-off-topic thoughts about art. Back in 2002, my sister an I were in the ...

After studying the stonework for awhile, Beardthar proclaims I have a hunch this was done by the kobolds, probably a good while ago. The stonework is really crude. Miserable by dwarven standards, and even pretty poor by human standards... no offence... Beardthar glances at Spittle, to see if any sli...

After a closer examination of the wire, Beardthar proclaims: The tripwire trap was set very recently. I can't tell what it triggers, but I don't think it is related to the wall. The cave entrance walling is older work. Maybe the tripwire triggers and arrow or a dart or somesuch. I'm not sure. Are an...

Hold up! Beardthar has been staring in puzzlement at the cave entrance ever since they got close to it. There is something that looks like the trigger of a tripwire trap across the entrance. Beardthar points out the twine [spoiler 3 from BMR's last post] to everybody. It also looks as if the...

As the party regroups and starts to catch their breath, Beardthar finally remembers some of his Bear-lore, and begins singing an obnoxious song: ♬ Oh lady fair (gasp) she saw a bear! ♪ A (wheeze) walking under the stars! ♬ And in her hair, sweet flowers there (pant) &am...

I'm not mad at Peanut, I am too busy being mad at Beardthar for setting his wolves to "kill" instead of to "track"

Beardthar keeps running also. He tries to remember anything he can from his woodland training about how to deal with bears. he also tries to remember if Gray Renders will imitate the behaviors of their adoptees. He wishes he had done more thinking *before* sending out the wolves, so he wouldn't have...

I agree. Running is probably what we should continue to do. However, I also have a possible backup plan. In real life, a good way to deal with a bear attack is to lie down and play dead. If you are convincing about it, the bear will think "My work here is done!" and most likely leave witho...

For a moment I was thinking of using "Speak With Animals" on the bear, but then I realized that Speak With Animals is NOT Charm Animals, so it would be very unlikely to make any difference. I would just be able to understand the bear-language obscenities that it is shouting at us right now.

Oh! Cool! Yes, the autosaving is working fine. Maybe when you choose "Quit" from the main menu it should show a brief message saying "Your progress has been saved".
