My preferred way to harvest sugarcane is to just punch off the tops of all the stocks, and leave the bottom block of each growing. Nice and fast, and has the exact same effect as replanting.

Wheat is the only crop that requires much effort to replant. (but I still think it is well worth it)

I have a modest but well-worthwhile hoard of books in both Mt James and in my cave at The Gray which I will happily donate to any library project. And anybody who happens to walk past any of my sugarcane farms is always welcome to harvest.

That is a beautiful library! @Master K: the best way to enchant in the current version while you are waiting for version 1.3 to come out is to enchant any item you can as often as you can. the first 1 or 2 levels of experience are good enough to give you many items with basic enchantments, and even ...

Beardthar checks to see if there is sufficient slack in the rope, and the proceeds to move the rope to the bookshelves. It is a sad state of affairs when a bookshelf is sturdier than a stone wall, and Beardthar shakes his head nostalgically thinking about how his father would have ranted and raved a...

I haven't been testing the weekly snapshots, but my understanding is that mobs still don't spawn on bottomslabs, they just gained the ability to spawn on top of topslabs and on top of inverted stairs.

Beardthar stares at the nasty mark on the floor for a moment, slightly disturbed, but then remembers he has a job to do. he looks around the room for a safer/stronger place to attach the rope so the others can climb up without risk. He will wait until his equipment has been lifted and his allies hav...

Well... it seems to hold... Beardthar drops to the ground. He removes his pack, and Rock-Head (who had been perched on his head while he was testing the rope) Beardthar takes the seneschal's rod out of his pack and hands it to Spittle. Good idea. We should check in with Ileran and let him know we m...

Beardthar scowls for a moment, but then decides to let it pass No, I really think we need something a little better, but I'll give it a test Beardthar climbs one arms-length up the rope, and then jiggles and tugs to test the sturdyness, fully alert and aware that if the masonry breaks he will have t...
