For a while I wanted to make a puzzle game called "Weiners" featuring dachshunds that grow longer each time they power-up. I abandoned the idea when I learned that somebody else had already done an amazing job of implementing the <a href="https://www.ouya.tv/game/Save-the-Puppies/&quo...

Alright here's my latest update. I have taken the advise to create a program independent from my game and have come up with a nice minimal script that allows the player to shoot bullets and see if they collide. The script is as follows: The main problem here is that you are using slice lookup codes...

I'm using the walktall scripts so the NPC is currently replaced with a Hero Battle sprite set. (1) Ah, no worries. That can be adjusted for. get npc slice(0) The command above gets the NPC container slice, but since you are using walktall, you want the NPC sprite slice instead, sinc...

No, I am really serious, you should not use 2, no matter how simple your script is. When I say the number could change as a result of any tiny change, I am not just talking about changes to your script, I mean changes to other parts of your game, changes in future updates of the OHRRPGCE. Your game ...

Back! No! Never use the number as a slice handle! Always store your slice handles in variables no matter what. Just because it is 2 right now, don't assume it will always be 2. Any tiny little change could unexpectedly change it to 3 or 5 or 467 I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I'll come bac...

Silas does not hear Lynda's words. He is unconscious, floating painfully towards death in a cloudy dream. His last thought is: "Vecna! Lord Vecna!, If you find mercy your secret heart to spare my pitiful life, I swear I will murder Lynda in her sleep, and cut her into a thousand pieces and hid...

Silas tries to remember if he has ever read anything that would give him a clue as to the identity of the spell that created the Large Globe of Darkness around Simon. Unless he remembers something that frightens him, he will assume the darkness is just meant to make Simon harder to punch, and that ...

I think the easiest way to do a Dragon Quest/Earthbound style battle system is to put the built in battle system into "Turn Based" mode, draw enemy sprites facing the screen, and leave hero sprites blank.

"Lynda, you fool! You are immune to magic!" Silas screams. He casts sleep on the snake, in the hopes that will free him up to strike Simon again. The snake wrapped around his body isn't what scares him, it is the fact that Simon might cast finger of death, or something worse, and Lynda is...

"Charles, I suggest you help us subdue your brother before she kills him outright."

Silas smashes Simon with his stone arm, hoping to render him unconscious. After completing the attach he will try to get back being Lynda again.

Silas's sense of relief evaporates. He would still like to talk to Simon, but he wants to be standing behind Lynda while he does it. He would rather have Lynda between him and Simon than a solid wall. "Finger of death." Silas mutters to Lynda. "That should have killed you, I think.&q...

Silas is slightly relieved. Insect bites don't seem frightening to someone with metal skin, and it seems that Charles is on their side, at least for now.

He glances at Madeline, struggling against the rope, and asks "What is your opinion about all this, Madeline Clover?"

"Hell, you say? Well that would certainly explain a thing or two." Silas says, in a friendly tone inappropriate for the situation. "I agree that none of us will get out of here alive, but since we are all in Hell together, perhaps we can talk about it a bit longer. How did your famil...

3. For the games that are rereleased, remember that the goal is to play what's new to 2014. It's fine that you start Okedoke from the beginning and rate it based on your opinions. But remember that Chapter 1 has been around since 2009 and isn't really what's important to this contest. If you want t...
