Yeah, I didn't really mean I needed reload support directly in scripts, I just meant something like it. Arrays, dicts, and objects would be more appropriate. In a game like that, I would actually keep track of a lot of state in the server to prevent cheating. The ohrrpgce client would just do move-i...

Tammytharn shoots a sharp look at Lynda, and hisses "Do NOT volunteer to throw ANYTHING into any monster's MOUTH! We are not ready to take that step!" "Do you think the skeleton that Gaspard mentioned could be Kalar's 'friend' with the sword?" she asks, speculatively And after a...

If I was going to use networking in a game, here is the first project that would come to my mind. I would want to write a turn-based 2-player strategy game, similar to Hero Academy. I imagine not many of you have played it, so to make the analogy easier, lets pretend instead that I was implementing ...

I guess that works out to 3 modes of handling unexpectedly long ticks -the frame rate drops (current behaviour) -frame skip -no frame skip, but animations and motions speed up to give the same visual effect That third mode is a lot more work work so would be added later or probably never. I like th...

I always wanted to save network support until after plotscripting gained support for real strings and real arrays and structs. Maybe that isn't a reasonable prerequisite, I don't know. I used to feel pretty strongly opposed to network support, but now I am a bit more open to it, but still cautious. ...

"Could they be expecting an invasion?" asks Tammytharn. "Or perhaps that dragon that Galse mentioned is on the way?"

If any locals are near enough to call out to, Tammytharn will ask them what is happening.

"I only had one Sending prepared, and I used it to speak with Galse, but I will prepare another tomorrow and I will let you know first thing in the morning what we have learned" Tammytharn joins Lynda on foot, and looks back to see if Rachelle and Voulton are coming into the city with the...

"It is hard to KNOW what to do with the wagon until we KNOW more about the city. Perhaps we SHOULD hide it now. We can always come back for it if we find a safe place to keep it inside the city." Tammytharn looks around to see if there are any local farmers or peasants nearby that they ca...

Tammytharn graciously accepts the key. As the wagon rolls along she looks inside the chest and takes inventory of what is in there. She then pets the goat and the pig Kalar had purchased. She names the goat "Milky" but forces herself not to name the pig, since they will probably be eating...

Whoa, haha! This is already further along than I remembered. I was somehow thinking that the setting for framerate was going in the spam menu along with variable resolution, and when I looked for it there and did not see it I thought, "Oh, I that hasn't been implemented yet" but no, as TMC...

"WELL, we are going to continue to Vyones, I suppose?" asks Tammytharn. When Kalar draws her attention to the Moon, she wonders "Since there seems to be so much time-magic going on in this land, it would be nice if we had a way to gage the passage of time. Tomorrow morning I am going...

http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6394&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=1650 Tammytharn decided that she was going to sell the Tome of Golems and Ironforged, but as far as I can tell, she never actually got around to doing it, being distracted instead by asking after Permanen...

I personally have a hard time noticing the low framerate in ohr games, but it has something to do with my eyes, and/or the fact that I am so used to it. To some other people it is way more noticeable. But good news for sidescroller authors! We are really close to being able to allow other frame rate...
