Rob is frustrated by the ineffectiveness of his mirror images. He tries to push them all ahead of him, past Kalar, and right up into the room. He will position himself right behind Kalar and try to make a fuss and provoke one of the Wights to attack him and his images.

That looks like perfectly reasonable inheritance to me. I have never heard of problems from inheriting too deeply (unless we are talking about problems with poorly planned inheritance trees, or inheritance that doesn't serve any actual purpose) If you do want to simplify your implementation, you mig...

Roll(1d4)+3: 4,+3 Total:7 Rob glances around and counts his 7 mirror images, crowding the hallway. He will send them pushing ahead of him into the room, entering last. When he is inside the room, he will keep himself behind one of Kalar's Bloodhulks, while splaying the mirror images all over the roo...

Re: Stats and battle, like you're talking to a 6 year old...

Assume a single Level 1 hero enters a room and there is one enemy inside that must be fought. The character has had the opportunity to pick up one weapon and one armor. I have not given him any potions yet, but might add one if it enhances the game. Neither the hero nor enemy has magic. The enemy s...

"Right, this is what I will do. I'll cast Heroism on you, Kalar..." Rob looks back over his shoulder to see if Voulton and Rachelle are following. "I'll sing my song of Inspire Courage or the rest of us." "Kalar, do you think this monster would be fooled by my Mirror Image ...

"Hold a second! Rob calls to Kalar. Let me cast a few spells first before you open that door."

Rob takes a quick moment to decide which spells he can get in place before the battle begins

I was playing Paladin Traducer a little this weekend, and I was thinking maybe I should change it so that the penalty for making a move without scoring a hit is Damage bonus - 5 rather than damage bonus divided by 2. I feel like that would probably make the late-game a lot less frustrating, without ...

Yes, I totally agree. Doing a lot of artwork is often the hardest part of any game. If I look back on my own projects which have been completed successfully vs the ones that I have given up on, the dividing line almost always seems to be the artwork-burden. They say a picture is worth a thousand wor...

We chose .tar.gz because they can store symlinks and they can preserve the executable bit on files. Zip cannot do those things.

However, I think those features may not matter as I originally thought they did. Zip might still be an option.

Rob tells Kalar what happened. "Lynda just vanished where she slept. That was before the critters arrived."

Rob calls over the charmed monster.

"Come here, you nasty bugger. Let us get a good look at you."
