Thanks! I am glad you are enjoying it. http://i.imgur.com/I5VzmiKm.png My personal favorite strategy is to alternate strategies. First if focus on clearing as many tiles as possible-- letting Devs eat willy-nilly, and doing as many spatulas as I can regardless of completed waffles. This concentrates...

...which would be very bad for anyone running on a screen smaller than that.

I think I would like to see an option to default a game to full screen, and a feature to remember the last full screen/windowed state.

How to give your game an icon

I just finished a nifty little feature in the latest nightly wip build The "Distribute Game" menu now supports icons, for both Windows and Mac. Here is how it works. First, create your icon in whatever graphics program you prefer. Make it square. You can use transparency if you want. Conve...

I released a small new update to Devs Like Waffles. Now it has music & sound effects, and you can skip the Intro/Tutorial after you have viewed it once. I also slightly reduced the rate that new rows push up from the bottom from once every 8 turns to once every 10 turns. (does not apply to old s...

"Uh oh... that doesn't sound good" Says Rob, but then after a moment's thought he adds; "Or maybe the other one exploded too. Maybe attacking them once triggers a magical timed fuse. Maybe we will just find another acid-stain when we go back there."

Thanks! I just squeeze game making time in as often as I can. It helps that slice collections make stuff easy to script. I was able to throw together the title screen and the tutorial in a surprisingly short amount of time this morning. Serving waffles to the customers is very hard. I usually feed a...

<a href="http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewgame.php?p=117620">Devs Like Waffles</a>, a Bob the Hamster and Gizmog joint. It doesn't have music and sound. I wanted them, but I figured since the deadline was yesterday, I probably should not dally any longer. I would be happy about waiting ...

Devs Like Waffles

A falling block puzzle game about waffles. Sort of kind of a contestant in the <a href="http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6625&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0">2015 Random Collaboration Contest</a> Available for Android on Google Play: https://play.google.com/sto...

Interesting. Is the TM after the name accurate? Did you really trademark the name? TM is the way to mark an unregistered trademark. It just shows that you personally consider the name to be your trademark, and lets people know you intend to enforce your trademark. Just like with © for copyright, yo...

Haha!

Just copy the exp numbers from <a href="http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/pro ... 690">Rob's Chart</a>. I'll let you know whenever we both level up. We can be level-up buddies!

Sounds like your heart is into side-scrolling. It will be more work to script, but if you are up to it, go for it!

When you mentioned turn-based battles, were you talking about the built-in OHR battles? Or scripting your own battles?

Ooh! I just remembered a game that might be relevant to this discussion. Have you ever played Quest for Glory 4? It has a side-view aesthetic, but you can also move up and down, so it really has the best of both worlds in that regard. It also has side-view (action) RPG battles that you transition to...

I was just looking at the reviews on Steam-- looks like it is being pretty well received! :)

Do you have any information on how many copies have sold via steam so far?

Almost certainly. I know that Rob started at the same level as Voulton when he joined, but that Rob was as minimum experience for that level, while Voulton should have had a bit for whatever transpired between the last level-up and the time when Rob joined. I notice that the experience field is blan...

I think you should go with Top Down 3/4 A sidescroller perspective coupled with turn-based battles is likely to be jarring. Also, I think the spatial feel of the world is pretty important, so you should go with the method that makes that easier. If you do decided to go with side-view, there are some...
