Okay. I'm going to try and explain the problem. Okay, I think I understand now. If you change all delays to 0 and make sure all chain percentages are 100% and the problem is still happening, you may have found an engine bug. In this game, I set every accuracy stat to 999 and every dodging stat to 0...

Wow, I didn't know that. The attack editor is REALLY misleading though, as it displayed the delay as "X ticks (Y secs)" Yeah, the caption for attack delay in the editor should be changed when turn-based mode is selected. But what about active-time battles: when does an attack delay allow ...

I think it alternates between lying and telling the truth. Its first statement, about only answering a single question was a lie. After we get one true answer, we can ask again, and it will lie to us rather than remaining silent. That is my crazy theory anyway. Rob however, is about to ask it someth...

Yes, in turn-based battles, you almost always want Delay=0 for almost everything. A delay of 1 usually means the attack is pushed back one in the sequence of attacks. A delay o 2 means pushed back 2 in the sequence. Since the most heroes and enemies you can have in a single battle is 12 total, a del...

Rob clears his throat, and begins to sing Song Of Freedom Azzy was one of the biggest jerks, Averoigne ever knew, But he was strong in magical works, At least that much is true. And now that he's down and dripping black slime, we realize we liked him around, Though we're in a hurry and might...

Rob is relieved that the dragon doesn't seem angry about the situation.

He cautiously goes in for a hug.

Rob catches the drift of Harvey's conversation, and decides it might be a good time to distract the Lady Nerroth. He leaves the dead unicorn next to the confused beholder, and approaches the two dragons "Good Lady, I fear your beautiful unicorn may be dead-- and I must admit to acting a bit ra...

Feeling that there may still be a little magic left in the fallen unicorn's horn, Rob drags it towards the beholder. He hopes by all the gods that Nerroth is too busy being a dragon to notice the unceremonious way he is treating her dead mount.

Stumpy weeps

Rob quickly dismounts, and tries to push the fallen unicorn's head down while lifting one hoof up to try and make the unicorn's horn touch its own leg. He is not at all sure that the magic of the horn actually works that way, but it seems worth a try.

"RUN, FRIEND, RUN!" shouts Stumpy to Lynda's confused warhorse. Stumpy has been watching those manticore spines, he knows they are bad news.

I have been playing with this, and I find it very interesting The game clearly has potential for a lot of depth, but I think it needs some improvements to realize that potential. I would definitely call this a "Chesslike", allthough it has a few important differences from chess that are in...
