I feel compelled to point out at this point in the thread that "Most Improved" is not a measure of how bad your game used to suck.

Secret Milkshake: released by Ralfo under the alias "TROYBOMB." Designed to be awful, it ended up being better than he'd intended.
the real corndogs: released by 3m strips, one of venxz's many alts.

Come on, James, I found them on your webspace. :)

No, that's "hero by slot." The "hero by rank" command does exactly what you want.

Speaking of homebrew, Puzzle Maniak alone is worth the ~$30 you'll spend on a card, unless you just hate puzzle games. Kukulcan is another excellent puzzle game.

Puzzle Maniak makes up 90% of my wife's DS time, even though she still buys new games now and then.

My goal for yesterday is complete now. I don't have the after-battle cutscene, but everything up to and including the first battle is done (at least until I decide I hate it, go back, and redo it). Here's a feature that may pleasantly surprise some of you. My wife in particular is happy about it. ht...

There really aren't any rules to this contest at all, other than the game you submit has to be one that already exists in some form currently. If you want to 16-bit your game, that's up to you.

Cave tileset: complete. I might go back and add some layer 2 noise, but the basic tileset is 100%. First battle: I... have a little way to go. I'm still working on it, and it's at the top of the list now that the cave is out of the way. (Unless I decide to hop right into the castle graphics... nah.)...

Maybe because your protagonists are usually wolves with neon-red fur?

It's the ability view! Press Shift to switch between this and the stats view.

I think I'd get a lot more done if it weren't for Team Fortress 2. (I'm still plugging away right now, though!)

(edit) GREAT PROGRESS on the cave tiles.

I've wrapped up the ability view. I was going back and forth on how best to do it -- there's just not enough space in the current info box to show all of the ability information unless you remove literally everything that's in there otherwise. The end result is that switching to ability view now exp...

Depends. Do you want the player to have a 50-67% chance of doing absolutely nothing on his turn?

This is personal preference, but I would tend towards making the Steal command too useful rather than useless.

20-30% means that, on average, the player will have to steal 4-5 times before getting anything. That's not fun. I rarely use Steal for exactly this reason.
