Oh, no wonder I was having trouble figuring it out on my own... a lot of those script commands don't seem to be in plotscr.hsd, and that was the only thing I was going by for scripting stuff. (are all these new commands documented somewhere else, like on the wiki maybe? I haven't checked.) This actu...

Might need some help with slice/sprite stuff

Okay, I honestly have no idea how to use slices, or even what they are really... but I seem to remember hearing that they're what you need to use to display different types of sprites (hero, enemy, etc.) on a map. And I've come to the point in my RGC entry where I'm making some scripts that need to ...

Yeah, I figure that part of the horribleness is probably just the "doesn't lend itself well to screenshots"-ness that 3D games tend to have, especially on the DS. I haven't seen any of the Dragon Quest remakes , but Diamond/Pearl were the same way: still screenshots always looked like crap...

http://i40.tinypic.com/zwnxw9.png Screenshot on the right is Pokémon Ranger: Tracks of Light, the most recent Pokémon spinoff game. Screenshot on the left is Pokémon Black/White, next game in the main series. I know it'll probably improve a bit by the time the game is actually done, and it'll proba...

Yeah, sfxr is great for making video game sound effects. I've used it a lot in the past (most of the sound effects in Okédoké were made in sfxr... and they're also part of the default OHR sound effect package now, heh.) I haven't done much with it for a while, though, so I'm probably a little rusty....

http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u343/FnrrfYgmSchnish/Puckamon/JumpLedge.gif Jumping down tiny ledges! This probably seems a lot more impressive to me than it actually is, but I'm still really happy with how it turned out. There's no slowdown, no glitchiness if you try to approach the ledges from...

I don't see how it could be an older version of game.exe, since when I downloaded the first nightly with the change to "add hero," I saved it in the same folder as the old one and overwrote everything. I guess there's a chance that I accidentally clicked "don't overwrite" on one ...

Fall 20011.
18,001 years? Wow. If it's that long, maybe you will use every variable and textbox available.

Anyway... I'm FnrrfYgmSchnish (aka Dark Blubber on CP, aka Supernum on the old OHRRPGCE Help Me board) and I'm terrible at introducing myself. So I guess that'll be it for my post here.

Actually... Radish-Girl in my game is loosely based on a real person on another forum I go to. Who is obsessed with radishes for some reason.

(did Marzipan talk about radishes? I can't remember... the last time I watched any Homestar Runner stuff was back when I was still in high school.)

WALRUSES!

Image

...actually, there's just one walrus in the game. But as you can see from this screenshot, it's a pretty powerful walrus.

Hey, they redid the battle scenes. And (THANK GOD!) they did it without making it all into slimy 3D! Looks like the 5th generation might have some more-detailed Pokémon sprites... maybe they'll finally have battle animations after 4 generations worth of games. Looks like the outside-of-battle graphi...

Tried it just now, and... still doesn't work. For some reason it's setting the level of the first hero (hero #55, who was in the party before the script starts) rather than the one that was just added (hero #1.) I'm not sure how it's happening that way, unless the "add hero returns the slot whe...
