Another new contest, wow. Looks like RGC 2011 will be delayed to 2012. :hurr: I probably wouldn't enter this one even if I did have time to do another contest (too busy with school and my own games at the moment), since I doubt working together with a random person would work all too well. I guess I...

You could also give enemies more HP than normal and have their "desperation" attack be one that transmogrifies them into a "dead" version of the enemy (which can then hit itself with a self-targeted instant-death move and dissolve away with a regular death animation.) The only ba...

I might not use all of these. I kinda have a thing against using demons as enemies in games (since that sends the wrong message about how to defeat them). You could always have an attack, only effective against demons, representing whatever it may be that you believe is the right way to defeat them...

Oh wow, 16x16 sprites and everything? The colors may be too dark--everything on the "screen within a screen" is barely distinguishable from black on my old crappy monitor, and even on brighter monitors the lightest shade of green seems a bit too dark. I know the old Game Boy wasn't backlit...

If we translate OHR into the android world with MMO capabilities, the game will explode Funny that you say that... my first thought upon seeing "FF6-style MMORPG" was "wouldn't that just explode and kill everyone, like mixing matter and antimatter?" Porting the OHRRPGCE to other...

I thought that was just before the Zenzizienzic release... but maybe I am misremembering. Whatever it was I thought I fixed it. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was after the Zenzizenzic release. I remember that it was around the time that I finally realized that it was "Zenzizenzic" and not &quo...

I've seen this exact same bug with Vikings of Midgard--I think you were in the #slimesalad IRC room when I was talking about it, James. But yeah, as Meatballsub mentioned, it doesn't happen with every game--most of the games I have on my computer never get the weird "map missing" endless c...

How exactly are the Top 30's "points" determined? I notice that the recent lists (like the one in the newest Hamsterspeak) show both points and number of votes, but older lists (like this one where The Kirby Lands inexplicably got 15th place before it was even uploaded to Castle Paradox......

I have it, but haven't been able to do much with it aside from making half-assed remixes of midis I already had. Of course, I'm completely incapable of making music from scratch (every time I've tried so far, it sounds more like a 4-year-old plonking randomly on a piano than video game music), so th...

One other way to discourage overleveling would be to make the characters' stats go up slower. If grinding a level or two only gives you a couple of extra stat points rather than a dozen or more, you'll need to do a lot more overleveling to actually make a difference. If that doesn't stop somebody fr...

Sorta vaguely in order. If order actually counts for anything, I guess you can count them as my #1 through #15 in the order they're in now. Wandering Hamster One of the few OHR games that actually made me wonder "what's going to happen next?" after I hit the end-of-demo point, and for the ...

The color of Goku's clothes varies a lot from one picture to another. The anime tends to have the medium and more reddish oranges, while the video games generally go with a medium orange. The colored manga pages and other drawn-on-paper pictures are all over the place from almost-red to almost-yello...

Kind of odd that the site lists Tim-Tim (and probably the others too, though I didin't check) as being for Windows Vista/Windows 7 only... I know even the newest Windows versions of the OHRRPGCE work on XP, though I'm not sure about 98/95/3.1. My dad still has a computer with Windows 98 sitting arou...
