Oh yeah. devlog stuff. FIXES IN A3: -fixed loss of horizontal momentum when bumping the ceiling -two slices for plunger, so you don't get hurt by the invisible area near the handle -tweaked fans. hopefully they'll stop making you fall through the floor on occasion -smoother landings. less overlappin...

Re: Titityler: A Soapy Platfohrmer
What are your plans for like tutorials and stuff for some of the mechanics? Some of the features require you to hold the jump button, is that something you want people to pick up naturally? Unfortunately there's a percentage of players who like everything spelled out for them and those that like to...

It's hard to talk good when you're trying to play your game good. Oh well. Maybe we should stream it sometime.

Re: New OHRRPGCE scripting features in Ichorescent
Clarifying because I don't use slices a lot. Does this mean that slices effectively have a ton of variables? If so that's quite convenient for me, because I put a game on a backburner because part of the basic gameplay would have required thousands of global variables before even going past anythin...

Re: Titityler: A Soapy Platfohrmer
- Why do the save pools gradually eat the UI? Doesn't seem to be a purpose to that other than hiding my health bar. - Sometimes you lose upward momentum when jumping into a wall, which is just kind of punishing. It's especially rough when it happens against a small platform. wow. lots of good stuff...

Titityler: A Soapy Platfohrmer
https://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8326 In high school I drew a webcomic in which my friend Tyler was a bar of soap. Last time PJ visited home, Tyler couldn't help but notice his old friend really needed a bath. Maybe he doesn't have any soap? As Tyler, it's your job to collect 300 pen...

Wow! I'm flattered to be only one point behind Cthulu's Paradox. Feels good, though. Thanks everyone for playing and rating! I'm down for hosting it next year, I did warn everyone if I won the theme would be Breakfast Foods though. Sounds like a sausage fest! My theme idea would be to make a self-pa...

The contest already wrapped up????? Global Warming - 3 [Got to Alabama. Fun and cute by a certain deranged definition of the word, but I have to agree with the other people and say that the instant shooting gets annoying, especially when there's no way to set up easy shots or when enemies start tak...

Re: Ridiculous/Terrible Games Competition 2022 - The Homage Strikes Back
charbile your game needs a level select or a save feature or a way to skip cutscenes, 5/5 implementing saves with such a slice heavy game is tough. I'm dealing with the same thing. also, it's hard to rate this stuff. do I give myself any credit for an original soundtrack and being on time, or give ...

Re: OHRRPGCE feature requests/suggestions
It sounds like you don't want to read from the screen, but want to read a pixel of a sprite? For some reason I've been putting off read/write pixel commands until we had proper arrays and objects (for faster access), but that's just dumb, I should add them now because they'd be very useful. Reading...

Re: OHRRPGCE feature requests/suggestions
Is there a way to read what color is at a specific pixel? I'd like to do something with offscreen slices, generating maps from smaller images. So ideally, I'd like to read color at screen x or color at screen y, returning a value. Would that be super difficult?

Re: OHR Podcast
So far, game design is the most engaging, time sucking project I've found. But the passion comes in waves. As for my own podcast, I do one where I talk about songs I've written and recorded. It might be interesting to people who want to live the "artist life" or want to write and record ov...
