Re: SUMMER SLAM - the next gen of ohr contest

Gaplan and I have teamed up. We are not working yet, but are discussing an idea.

Re:

Get out, Nuora! Get out! Try to teleport again! Funny you mention that... Here's the very next paragraph. Nuora's mind began racing. Impulsively, her hand began tracing the gesture for teleportation. She realized she couldn't do that, however. She'd spent most of her magic power using the Mournblad...

I'm writing a book! I finally committed to writing more about Nuora Stoneheart. I'm continuing straight from the first part I wrote, with Nuora and the Mournblade. I have the entire story plotted out pretty concretely, and I'm very happy with it. Only the first chapter is beyond a rough draft, thoug...

Anything more than 30 minutes is usually pretty good. I've heard a lot of industry people say that the first 15 minutes are the most important, because by then players will have formed an opinion of the game. That was mostly in the context of getting potential publishers, etc. to play your game, lik...

For anyone curious about the performance of free games on Steam, this one's had 3,100 downloads in its first month. It's hard to say how that translates into sales for my other games, but I had a lot more traffic than usual on the Kaiju page after this went live. That's fantastic! Congrats on that....

Well, I got sucked into that! I like your style; I always find that I really enjoy when authors get really detailed about very short moments. It makes the connection with the characters much stronger, because you get a deeper sense of what they're feeling when you describe someone's internal thought...

What kind of feedback are you looking for? Just overall, big picture stuff? I don't want to bother you with minor grammatical suggestions if that's not where you're at right now.

I feel like I'll get flack for asking this, but is there any plan to have the option to lift the 16-color limitation on sprite palettes? Is that even a possibility? Backdrops can be in 8-bit color, but they aren't very organized. Now that we can resize sprites arbitrarily, the color limitation confl...

Just saw this meme someone made about their game, and made me think of this. [s] https://m.gjcdn.net/fireside-post-image/1000/6931144-ixepqqfb-v4.webp [/s] The caption was "Me each time when someone asks if Oddventure was made with RPG Maker." Edit: uh oh, slime salad doesn't like webp fil...

Godot?!? Fantastic. Glad you've got some help, then. Collaboration can be life-saving, and I've heard lots of good things about Godot.

Yay! I hope to be able to play this one. I've always liked your art and game feel. Those menus look very clean. Is this rpg maker? I'm curious to hear how the workflow is in that compared to the ohr. I have one question and one question only how will you go about mimicking the background animations ...

I'll probably crosspost to multiple places. I don't expect Steam users to view devlogs on itch. That being said, maybe I'll just link to itch devlogs instead of copying the entire update description in multiple places. Honestly, copying the text in multiple places is less of a pain than uploading th...

It's Katja Day again! This time it's on Steam! Thanks again to everyone who's contributed to making this a possibility. Big shout out to TMC specifically, this time, aka "He Who Makes the Hamster Wheel Go Round". https://store.steampowered.com/app/1586270/Katjas_Abyss_Tactics/?beta=0 If yo...
