Re: RGC Referendum!!
Considering we still have more than two weeks and I'm basically done, an extension would just keep me in Dracula purgatory for even longer. So if you want me to suffer at the hand of my own lack of self control, be my guest. I wouldn't blame you.

Re: RGC Referendum!!
Saying this in case it sways a decision, but if the theme is specifically Steamboat Willie I think I'm personally less likely to participate. I'm just not interested in making a game of that theme, and it's pretty specific, so there's not much wiggle room. As for voting, it seems like it shouldn't b...

Re: Let's learn Godot together
Oh hey, cool. Haven't logged on here in a while, apparently. I've for the most part switched to using Godot the past year. Not because I don't also like the ohr, but it's just hard to work on two projects at once. That being said, I livestream on Twitch basically every week, barring holidays and get...

I'll update Pixel Walker "eventually" to be more user-friendly and less bug-ridden. Apologies for the delay on that.

Re: A question for the Godot users...
Sure, Godot a good engine, but it requires coding to make anything work. The beauty of the OHR is its ability to make something without touching plotscripting whatsoever. If you find yourself able to make a project you have in mind in the OHR, I'd stick with that instead. If you're trying to make so...

Here's a pretty good list of public domain books. When I try to think of things like this, my mind always draws a blank

Are those pods parented to the script layer? They seem to be moving with the camera. If you parent them to a map layer or the overlay layer, they wouldn't drift like that.

Re: Slime Salad Game Design Discussion
I used Substance Designer in college and loved it. It makes drawing textures by hand seem ridiculous for anything more than a single 3D scene. It's also fun to use, because you don't have to know how to draw. I remember doing a tutorial like this one , which was good. It had distinct steps in it, bu...

Re: Ridiculous/Terrible Games Competition 2022 - The Homage Strikes Back
I uploaded a new version of Charb adventure. For those who never finished it, it should be much more doable now (with upgrades and a difficulty option). If you have beaten it already, then there's a new secret boss that doesn't require beating any of the other bosses, so hopefully it's worth redownl...

Re: OHRRPGCE feature requests/suggestions
I have a lot of asset packs from humble bundles and such that are either 16x16 or 32x32, and sometimes scaling it up or down to 20x20 works out OK, but it always creates some degree of artifacting.

Re: OHR Podcast
Chiptune music is often like that. You might want to do more than just lower the volume on the music track, like apply a compressor without any make-up gain. I've found that even at low volumes, chiptune can feel grating.

Re: OHRRPGCE feature requests/suggestions
As the engine continues to get more QoL and "advanced" features (can't think of a better word), autotiling feels like something that would really keep the tilemap editor relevant. I'm not super familiar with it, though. I don't think I've ever actually used it, because it was more effort t...
