The two guards give a shout when they see the king. One immediately rushes off on horseback to find the Duke. The other seems very keen to get the King's body back to the royal wagon.

"Is that all?" He wonders aloud, still finding it odd that just waiting for a passenger would promote some kind of urgency in the man.
Insight on Erato: 1D20+3 => (12 + 3) = 15
"You may have been safer back at the wagons and not as exposed to archery crossfire." Only after he says this does he remember that Erato is the man with the painted wagon that advertises itself well to danger, perhaps running to the woods was the better idea after all.
His attention is then obtained by the royal guard urging to get the king back. Hyne agrees to help finish carrying the king's body back. While lifting his end of the bedroll, he asks the nameless guard, "Does your company have a mundane healer within the royal guard rank? We need somebody that can re-attach his bone and stitch him back up."

Erato Borodobur shrugs. He has the most insensible untrustworthy face Hyne has ever seen, but as far as Hyne can tell that is just his resting facial expression. His body language at the moment doesn't seem any more suspicious than it does all the rest of the time.
"There Was A Cleric Of Umberlee In The Procession, Citizen!" the guard answers, speaking louder than he needs to. "His Royal Majesty King Ark Will Be Tended To! ... And Those Who Desecrated His Body Will Be Brought To Justice!"
The soldier seems quite worked up, and although he is trying to sound professional, it isn't working at all. The left side of his helmet is a bit dented, and there is a misty splattering of blood over his hands and sleeves.

He nods and continues helping to return the body to the procession until they finally arrive at the destination.

They get the King's body back to the wagon. Oxnar and Erato tag along after without helping much.
Once there, a couple other people from the procession lift the king back onto his place of honor, and set about trying to make him look kingly again.
A grey-haired half-elf man wearing the vestiments of Umberlee ables over from where he had been standing near the prisoners and begins fixing up the King's mangled arm.
"Where Is The Holy Crown?" asks the agitated guard.

"Damn Their Filthy Jenn Hearts To The Endless Corridors!" exclaims the guard, shaking his fist skyward.
Oxnar walks towards the four prisoners.
Erato meanders away whistling and engages some of the other wagon drivers in conversation.
Duke Borgan appears out of the trees, flanked by most of the rest of the guards. One of them has another prisoner flopped over his saddle.
The Duke heads directly towards the King's wagon.

Hyne decides to tag along Oxnar to see what the captured soldiers might have to say, though he only expects little of interest, only gloating about their true victory looting the crown at this point.

The four prisoners are seated back-to-back in a circle.
As Hyne gets close, he can see that only one of them is actually bound, the others are just dead. Among the dead is the man that had shot Hyne. he must have bled out from the wound the guard gave him.
The one living prisoner is bound hand and foot. His head hangs forward and his shoulder is soaked with blood. He is breathing evenly.
Duke Borgan passes by Hyne or Oxnar on his way to the King. He doesn't say anything, and he doesn't look at them.
The fifth prisoner is dumped unceremoniously on the ground near the others. This one is dead too. Hyne notices that the living prisoner shifts his head ever so slightly as if to get a look.
All the guards are otherwise occupied at the moment. Only Hyne and Oxnar are near the prisoner.

He sighs, and crosses his arms and looks at Oxnar, "I came here to hear out the prisoners but now I don't know what he could possibly tell us. He wasn't going to be briefed on Jenna's future plans unless he's there to participate."

"I talk" whispers the prisoner with an odd accent "I tell all I know, but only if you can protect me from him."
He points with a jerk of his chin in the general direction of the King's wagon.
"Huh!" exclaims Oxnar, surprised.

At first, Hyne is terribly confused, almost to the point of being snarky, but a glance in that direction and the person that just went that way makes him wonder..
He kneels down in front of the prisoner and asks quietly, "Tell me more about what 'his' game is-" he pulls out his sword by the protective sheath, and allows the prisoner to see the Liontribe symbol, "And what he would want making someone like me as a playing piece."
