Oh, crap, I forgot Sharn's stuff!

Did she take any drugs while she was in the Headquarters? If so, which ones?

Sharn is still carrying the magic bucket using her Mage Hand. She notices;

Sharn's local knowledge wrote:
Sharn recognizes this building! A pair of women named the Rottenmead Sisters live here. They are some of Boots's drug suppliers. One time when Boots was in the lockup for a couple weeks, Sharn came here hoping to get hooked up. The Rottenmead sisters *did* sell her a little of the good stuff to tide her over, but after Boots got out, he told her they were pissed off that he had let slip their location to a customer. She met with them in the west stairwell, so she doesn't actually know which appartment they live in. She would recognize them again if she saw them.

Sharn quickly dumps as much water on the others and their buckets as she can with the magic bucket. Then, unable to reach the 5th floor with her mage hand, she will head into the building. With any luck, she'll find those two suppliers and their stash. Nothing wrong with a little looting while she saves the day.

The crowd outside shouts with surprise and alarm as Sharn douses the other firefighters with the magic bucket

DM wrote:
Any of you can Roll a d20 and add your reflex modifier If you get better than a 10 you were able to catch some of the water Sharn dropped on you in a bucket (half full now) If you roll better than a 15 then you were able to completely fill your bucket. If you roll a natural 20, you were able to do it and look cool, as if this was a move you and Sharn practiced in advance.

The dusty street is now a muddy street. You guys now have the full attention of the bystanders.

Petrol picks up the pace once he sees the size of the smoke clouds rising over the city. Something was clearly on fire, and it was a big one from the looks of it. He notices the executioner on the way, but there was no time now to stop and ask any questions.

After reaching the burning building, Petrol would get a bucket from Arcadia, dumping its contents on the floor if needed. "I came as fast as I could when I saw the smoke! Did anyone see what happened here?" Petrol tries to get caught up on which of the firefighters have shown up, and which one of them had the magic bucket.

Cece follows the path through the spooky junk. So much stuff.. it would take him a lifetime to replace it, eh? She can scarcely believe someone could pack a space like this so full.. why though? What good is it doing him? Does he fancy this is what the nobles do? She shakes her head in silent judgement.

"'ey! Eet's time to go!" Cece tries, unconvinced she's going to get a response. She tries again in Elven, unconvinced that an elf could make this mess."Eet weel be 'ere when you get back, 'eh?" but she's not really convinced that it will be.

She thinks about lighting one of her torches, but decides to hold off. No use wasting them. She also wonders if there'll be time to go to the second floor and save her rope. And if someone ate all the potato skins, oh, is there going to be hell to pay!

Caldon goes through the nearest door (presumably the front door).

The front door is closest. Although people are coming out, it is not fully obstructed, and you can push through one at a time.

None of the windows have any glass. This building is too poor for glass. All the windows have wooden shutters but almost all of them are wide open, and on the upper floors many are missing. A few windows are obstructed by screens or curtains, but most are not.

Jumping in through windows is a totally viable option without any magic missiles required, but you can't tell if it will be faster than the door until you try.

On the front face of the building, the first floor has six windows, and floors 2 thru 5 have 7 windows each.

Sharn heads for the west side door, thinking that's the door most likely used for illegal activity and thus the entrance with the highest chance of finding what she is looking for.

Caldon

Caldon pushes past the people coming out the front door. He passes the entry room, ignores the door to the inner courtyard, and hurries up the stairs.

As he rounds the stairwell on the second floor, he almost collides with a big dwelf man with a braided red beard and long pointy ears rushing down from the third floor.

"Out of the way!" he bellows, "That bastard is going to get away!"

Sharn

Sharn hurries to the side door. Inside is the bottom of a dim smelly stairwell. It spirals up out of sight.

There is a door leading into the first floor. It has been propped open with a brick.

She can see a family hurrying down the stairwell from one of the upper floors. They pay no mind at all to Sharn, but gawp in puzzlement as they pass by the bucket floating in her Mage Hand.

Far above, Sharn can hear a distant hacking cough.

Petrol, Normin, Evangeline, Ebald, Arcadia

Petrol arrives on the scene in time to see Caldon and Sharn enter the building. He collects a spare bucket from Arcadia.

He does not see Cece or Kailyn. None of you know where those two are.

DM wrote:
Any of you five outside can immediately follow behind Caldon or Sharn, and see the same things that they see, or you can stay outside, or you can go elsewhere

Cece

The person at the window does not react in the slightest to Cece's words. They don't move a muscle. They just stand there stiffly. Cece notices that their posture is unusually good.

Cece also hears the sound of breathing.

It is not coming from the person by the window, it is coming from close beside her, amongs the junk.

"Yeeeesss. It is time to go isn't it? This is the end of all things, is it not?" the voice says.

Kailyn

A butterfly lands on Kailyn's nose.

You hear a lot of scary stories on the street and quite a few of them start with a spooky voice coming from a pile of trash. It's only thanks to the creepy jelly-puppet and giant spider training that Cece is able to keep it together and not take her chances with the window.

She holds up one of her torches and, realizing it's not lit, shakes it, smacks it and cusses at it* until it is. "I am weeth the fire brigade. We weel fight and eet ees not the end, but why reesk eet? Come out and we weel leave together, eh?" only thinking to herself "Stop sheevereeng! You are a firefighter! You are geeveeng the bums a bad name!"

Kailyn futilely tries to blow the butterfly away without moving. His portrait must not be tainted in any way. He waggles his fingers a little, focusing on the holy symbol on his signet ring, and creates a loud sound near his face to scare the butterfly away. Hopefully, it'll work. Then again, he's no expert with insects, and has no idea if the butterfly can even hear the sound or not.

For whomever is outside with him, he expresses caution invoked by the increasingly dire straits, "You all must be careful traversing to the upper floors, the fire will spread and can trap you within." He follows after Sharn, hoping to convince her that the bucket needs to be where the others can rendezvous for a refill, as well as make use of his own bucket.

For the sound above, he states calmly, "Already there is smoke on the floor above. There may not be hope for this building. Let us hurry to do what little we can."

Ebald goes to grab a spare bucket in hopes of getting it filled up. He nods to his companion and says "Yes, even if things are not looking so good we must still do what we can." He looks up at the fire and wipes his forehead. "If only I'd been here sooner..." he mutters under his breath.
