Most of the city has indoor plumbing. This marvel of engineering is the biggest thing that property taxes pay for. Even in the worst tenements of the Poor Quarter, there is usually a rusty common tap in the ground floor where residents gather in like a village well.

There is not so much water available that baths are common. Even the High Mayor herself washes with sponge-bath most of the time.

I can't explain the French Canadian immigration either, but it is canon now. :)

I've sat up many a night wondering about that myself. I suppose it isn't really a French accent, it just sounds like one to our enlightened ears. There are surely cultural and probably even racial accents within the setting, hers just happens to resemble one we know.

In summary, I blame her parents (but if it takes you out of things I can knock it the fuck off)

Also the same way we've got full suits of Gothic plate armor despite having no HRE, or kung-fu monks who specifically channel ki despite there being no China.

That wiki seems to be down at the moment--

But I am going to say ask first about the spells. I will probably say "yes" most of the time, but the homebrew stuff can sometimes be wildly unbalanced, so just to be safe ask on a case-by-case basis

Site's still down, but one of the cantrips I remember ('cause who could forget?) let you make other people poop their pants

Heh, the pants pooping one. The ones I was planning on using though, were Endure Elements and Create Holy Water (among a few).
