I'm currently working on a new game with a buddy of mine. We are programming it in Unity 2D and it's going to be a 2D Platformer. I'm the lead
Artist/Animator and she's programming the stuff. So if anybody here is kinda familiar with Unity's 2D engine, I'm probably going to ask some questions here and show you guys some screenshots and stuff.
The development title of this game is Project Forest Jumper. Pretty original I know.

**EDIT** It's now called Heroes of Thereworld, since the game is about the four heroes of Thereworld, a weird and wacky world.

I don't know anything about unity other than it is a good engine, and many people love it :)

Is it going to be a linear level-based platformer? Or more of a metroidvania?

I'm trying to recreate that Rayman Origins/ Legends feeling so it's rather going to be a more linear platformer. But we are trying our best to make it as unique as possible ;D

Here's one of the enemies. This one still needs to be animated.

I actually picked up Unity 2D as well, and I've got a pretty interesting concept for a kind of artsy game that I'm hopefully going to make with it. Right now, to learn how to use it though, I'm trying to recreate a game I've started making with the OHR and seeing how that plays out.

So far it's strange to not have any pixel or scaling limitations. It's both liberating and overwhelming, and slightly scary. It's not as difficult to use as I thought it would be though, and I hope I'll be able to use it in the future.

On a side note, I haven't shown the game I'm currently working on to the public. I can't wait until it gets to a point where I can show it off, because it is undoubtedly the most ridiculous game I have ever worked on.

Nice! I'm glad to hear that there are some other Unity users in this forum!
I'm currently working on some animations and some backgrounds. I'll probably post some of them.

Woah indeed!

I assume that mountains backdrop is a WIP? Is it a backdrop? (With parallax?) It's going to be really bizarre (and amusing) as a backdrop.

Yeah, the Mountains are going to be the key element of the "rock world" which is called "The Land of The singing Rocks" Where every bit of music is done by me and some buddys in accapella ;D And yeah it's a WIP as you have correctly seen. It's going to be a paralax background which is fully animated, so it looks like the "Mouthtains", as I like to call them are singing ;D Also, I'm making sounds for enemies and everything else, and I really want to show them to you guys, but I didn't really find anything to upload them to... Gonk

Animated singing parallax mountains... that's going to be unique!

You can always just create a place-holder entry on the gamelist here for your game, and upload zips containing anything you want related to that game. There are also heaps of sites these days for hosting files...
