Lynda's relieved she didn't catch fire. She was about to tell Kalar when she realized no words were coming out.
"Agh! Dammit! I'm struck dumb!" She thought. "Why did the amulet fail me?"
Lynda frantically gestures to Kalar, trying to indicate she cannot speak.
Kalar frowns, concerned that his scout seems to be unable to speak. And a scout unable to report back on scouting missions... Well, she's been useful so far, and she can still prove useful in the future. Besides, if he finds a way to help her, then that's another person in his debt, something which will definitely aid in getting him out alive.
"You... cannot speak? I had assumed that amulet of yours that the late Silas spoke of ensured that you wouldn't be affected by such things."
Kalar does his best to look concerned, "This is troubling though. You have my word though, I will do all I can to help restore your voice."
Haven given his word, Kalar intends to keep it. He'll try his best to help Lynda. Granted, it's mostly out of concern for her utility rather than out of empathy, but he will keep his word.
"For now though, let's keep moving. Take point, my dear, I'll have Dave stay by your side to intercept anything. But do keep your bow ready."
Kalar, singed and in a bit of pain, heads forward to the cells to make himself known the bull-man and the painter.

Lynda gestures to her amulet, and then shrugs. Either the amulet has conditions in which it will or will not work, or this muteness is more than magical...
Lynda follows behind Kalar. Shes quite upset at being unable to communicate with these new people, if they have anything to say at all...

Kalar hears a groan. And then a ghostly face belonging to a tiny ghostly demon appears in front of his face. It sticks it's tongue out at Kalar and then reenters his body. Kalar bursts into flames again.
Lynda yells very loudly, "COME QUICKLY EVERYONE, I FOUND SO MUCH GOLD THAT I CAN'T CARRY IT ALL!"
(Kalar Heal Check)
The ghostly demon seemed to have been damaged in some way. Parts of it were missing or twisted.
Kalar takes 3 dmg and is on fire.

"What the hell?! There's no gold here! Why did I..." Then she comes to the realization after seeing the thing that caused Kalar spontaneously burst into flames yet again.
"We're being manipulated by these devils...this is more than magical!"
Lynda looks around the room frantically, to find something to extinguish Kalar.

"Crap on an unholy blue biscuit!"
It's not quite dignified, but Kalar drops to the ground and rolls, hoping to smother the fire in the water he created previously. With gallons of it still around, any normal fire would be extinguished easily.
The problem going through Kalar's mind at the moment though, was that as soaking wet as his clothes were moments ago, no normal fire should have been able to ignite him the way it did.
Through the pain he manages, "Demon, thing... damaged, parts of it missing... Warn others..."
Once the fires are out, Kalar plans to direct Lynda and Dave to make a tactical withdrawal to the main room. Hopefully whatever's affecting them is a ghost of some sort, and if it is, with luck he'll be able to use his divine powers to affect it in some way.

Kalar manages to put the fire out fast enough to avoid further damage. With that he and Lynda brave the tile room again, assumign that the tiles they walked over will not affect them again. They seem to be correct as they walk back over and into the Lab.
Lynda says, "I challenge you all to a duel. Here, you can have the first strike."

"If he wanted to do something to her, he would've done it by now. He's had plenty of chances. It's this place, it just makes people crazy.". Galse thinks about it, looks at Kalar for a second to be sure and seems satisfied. He holds up his sap and adds "Maybe she'd feel better after a nap?"
Kalar smirks at Tammytharn.
"My dear, if I had wanted to do something, I most certainly would have. But I do not want to, and I have not. I gave my word to help everyone here. I am unsure about your traditions about upholding one's honor, but where I come from, when you give your word, you keep it."
He then gestures back to the where they came.
"We moved into that hallway to scout ahead, looking for something that might help our situation. Some sort of trap triggered, and Lynda here seems unable to speak. But every now and then, she bursts out with some sort of nonsense. As for myself, I seem to burst out with flames."
He points towards his chest, "From what I can tell, there's some sort of entity, a ghost perhaps, that's affected us. For a second, before I burst into flames again, I saw what looked to be a damaged ghost of some sorts, leave my body. It reentered and then I caught on fire.
"I am unsure about what it wants, but we have to find some way to expel or exorcise it if either of us are to be of any utility."

Kalar gestures calmly to Lynda,
"See what I'm talking about? If you recall, I said nothing about demons. I spoke of ghosts."
Kalar ponders this a moment. "If it's making Lynda claim that there are no demons, then perhaps what's affected us are not ghosts, but indeed demons of some sort. All the more reason to exorcise them as soon as possible then.
