The silver dragon stepped forward then. "HA HA!" the dragon boomed, attempting to seemed lighthearted. "An excellent idea! Perhaps we should speak in another room, away from the others. What do you think Kalar?" The dragon sent a large wink in Kalar's direction and then whispered, "Kalar, your idea is valid, but we should get him out of this room. If we open that door and attack, he's likely to see and perhaps join the battle against us."
Kalar was distracted by the dragon. Too much to focus on his search for who thought of killing him. The dragon seemed to be thinking of taking the giant on himself and wanted enough free room to do so. He noticed that the dragon was thinking his it's own voice. Kalar then realised that the voice that had thought of killing him had not been the voice of anyone in the room.
"An excellent idea. So, what say you, good giant, shall we move elsewhere to find a better place to converse? We would not want to disturb any meetings with our chatter, and there is much I would discuss with you. I give you my word that I truly wish to converse with you, and I am Kalar Kess, my word is iron."
Also true, Kalar does indeed wish to converse with him. He does leave out why he wishes to converse though.

"Ok," said the stone giant. "I think the large swarm of bugs was moved out of the sky room over here. Let's talk there." The stone giant then floated towards the door to the east of the room. It began to slowly open. The door to the west of the room remained open to the cave room and the door to the north remained closed, promising a meeting with the avatar of the lord of the seventh level of hell.
The door to the east fully opened then. It revealed nothing but sky. There were no walls, or floor to be seen. The stone giant floated in, still smoking his large pipe.
"Maybe you should stay here," the silver dragon said to Kalar as he moved to follow the stone giant.

A scratchy voice entered Lynda's mind then.
The beholder will betray you. You need to deal with that problem before going forward.
"I actually have something private to discuss with you first, Sir Stone Giant," boomed the silver dragon. The dragon then rudely pushed Kalar back. Caught off guard by the sudden strength of the dragon's push, Kalar was unable to react before the silver dragon had closed the door behind him, cutting the dragon and the giant off from the rest of the group.

"Well. It looks as if we are committed then."
Kalar turns to everyone and says:
"This is it then, the final battle. If anyone has anything to say or do, best get it over with before we enter. It might also be a good idea to prepare yourselves. Pull out all the stops, we're going in fighting. Rob, if at all possible, I suggest you use that wish of yours to strengthen us and improve our chances. Perhaps grant all of the spellcasters renewed spellcasting ability, or create a powerful ally for us."
With that said, Kalar rummages through his pack, retrieving various potions and oils, applying them to himself and his equipment. He also casts a spell on himself, then retrieves a scroll from his pack and casts another spell.

Harvey returns to his human form, but not before fogging himself over to somewhere his reformation won't be embarassing.
"If there's a wish left to be had, why waste it now? When we open that door we might all wish we weren't on fire or covered in scorpions and no amount pre-wishing can fix that."
Giz Note: I don't remember if Harvey gave the time travel potion to anyone. Does he still have that?
"From what I've gathered, the last group who came through had some last second.. disagreements. Perhaps we should all get on the same page before we go through? I mean, do we negotiate? What's our price? What's our terms?"

To Kalar, Rob says "Yes, I'll be ready to use the Wish to our advantage, but I think I want to wait at least until I have seen the exact circumstances under which we will have to fight"
To Harvey, Rob says, "I know the choice is not up to me alone, but I vote that we should not negotiate. If we could be enough of a threat to negotiate terms that were to our benefit, then we would be strong enough to defeat him outright--- and I pray that we will be."
as he talks, Rob eats a bite of his Toadstool of Reduce Person, making himself a smaller target for whatever they are about to face through that door.

"Um, guys, I think we should hold on for a second." Lynda says. "There's something I need to address before we enter all gung ho and whatnot."
Lynda puts her hand to her temple, takes on a look of concentration, and then reaches in to her mind.
"Who are you and what do you mean? You could be making me kill a valuable party member. Unless you're my bedazzling goddess, I don't take kindly to having my mind probed. There's nothing for you to find but vanity, egocentricism, and cheap lies, among other things." she thinks to herself.

Harvey nods to Rob. "Killin this guy's good for business. I'm gonna get a sign made and everything. Bunch of devils runnin around killing everybody, not even having the common decency to mail someone a bill for it... that's not good for business at all."
His confusion at Lynda's antics is obvious. "What do you figure she's doing? Can she..." Harvey strikes his own psychic pose "...too?"
Is Lynda speaking out-loud or is she just thinking? Keeping it vague either way.

"Saving the wish until we open the door might not be a good idea. It could be too late by then. I would rather gamble on general preparation rather than a specific counter. We know the first will prepare us, but we do not know if we will have the time to use the second."

"I must admit you put effort in to sounding bedazzling, disembodied voice." Lynda thinks. "Quite in character."
"My goodness..." Lynda says, holding her head and acting like she's dizzy. "I suddenly feel very unwell..."
She stumbles towards Kalar, tripping. "Oh my!" She then leans in close to him.
"There's a voice in my head insisting we deal with the beholder, or else it will betray us and attack. It wants us to plot against it. I don't think it's my goddess, and I don't quite trust it."
