Not knowing where Lynda and Kalar are, Rob and Rachelle look around town till after dark. Kalar is able to spot them quickly, given the small amount of people on the street and the fact that Rob is the only one of them riding a horse. Plus they're both lizard people? The graveyard seemed largely unguarded and Kalar estimated 4 dozen grave markers. Kalar doesn't notice anything else on his look around the city.
Rob and Rachelle had yet to really meet a single person in town. It was night, sure, but people stayed out till all hours of the night in Rob's city. Rachelle understood this more. Once the sun went down you had to hurry home, or the monsters would get you, was a common saying when she was growing up. With no street lanterns, the streets were dark. The only lights came from house windows.
It wasn't long before Kalar met up with Rob and Rachelle and showed them the Inn they were staying at. At last, Rachelle and Rob met someone, the people at the tavern. Everyone seemed shocked at their appearance. One person even let out a scream. "Well met, gentle people! Don't be alarmed by our costumes! We are posing as traveling performers!" Rob's explanation calmed some, but for the most part, it turned frightened expressions into sideways glares.
Kalar tries to calm some the peasants and says:
"I apologize for these people. I have met them before on the road and as this man says, he is indeed a performer. He may be a bit brash in his choice of performance, but I can assure you he means no harm. He moves from town to town on occasion, and it was at one such settlement that I met him. Here, I shall pay for their rooms, along with a bit extra as way of further apology."
Kalar pays double the required amount for a night (how much do I need to deduct?) and says he will retire to his room. He bids Rob and Rachelle farewell, giving the appearance that it was a coincidence that they met.
In his room, he will retire to continue working on his mask. As he doesn't need to sleep, he'll keep an eye out for any potential mischief in the night.

Rob pulls a small drum from his pack. He pokes Rachelle in the ribs, and loud-whispers "Do your dance now! The dance with the quarterstaff!"
He begins to pound on the drum and sings the song of The Sensuous Dance of the Willow Woman, a well known folk-tune, but with every instance of the word willow replaced with the word lizard. This change does mess up the rhymes in one or two lines, but Rob sings enthusiastically and hits the drum a little louder to try and cover those parts.
Does Rachelle dance along?

Does Rachelle dance along?
Rachelle isn't quite sure what dance Rob is referring to... but she's had a century's worth of using ceremonies as an excuse to party under her belt, and quickly finds a dance she can incorporate her quarterstaff into. It isn't a dance she'd call sensuous - she's not sure this is the right crowd, and as a lizard her tail might get in the way of things - but she makes sure to put on a good show.
Rob's performance seemed to instantly turn most of the crowd's attitudes around. After several minutes of dancing, Rachelle could see that many of the tavern people's eyes had shifted from concerned or fearful to interested or impressed. The tavern began to empty shortly after the dance. They seemed to take bed time very seriously around here, the party figured. Only a few people remained behind, either too drunk to leave on their own or still slowly finishing off their drinks. Rob was surprised by how quickly his performance turned the hearts of the people in their favor. His skills had improved a lot since the last time he played for a crowd like this.
The mood quickly turned serious as Rachelle and Rob began talking with Kalar and Lynda. Voulton's absence was instantly noticeable and Rachelle and Rob's explanation only made things seem even more serious.

Lynda holds her hand to her forehead.
"This is my fault..." Lynda said. "This had to have started when I took the amulet off in Vyones and created a scene. It had to have been me who had us marked for having the amulet..."
"Voulton...will he survive the encounter? Will they kill him...? Or...will they make him one of their own?"
"And what happens now? There's one item left, and it's in Perigon...we've dawdled so much, we've lost track of our original goal. The land is getting dangerous for us, and we need to find a way to get to the solution."

Kalar is torn. On the one hand, Voulton is free to do what he wishes, and if this is his choice, so be it. On the other hand, he invested his powers in part of himself in creating items for Voulton, so that might be a problem later on. Hearing Lynda speak, he decides to put the matter aside for now.
"It is no one's fault, my dear. None of us could have known about the amulet, and you were not exactly given a choice in the matter regarding whether or not you took it with you.
"As for Voulton, he is tough. He'll be able to take care of himself. I am more worried about us right now."
Kalar leaves out that he is disappointed in having lost the woodsman. He was handy in a fight, and could be relied on rather well. He's a rather unfortunate resource to lose.
"And I agree. We'll head for Perigon. We should take some time to rest though. I propose that we spend tomorrow learning what we can here, and possibly building up some trust in the peasants. Considering how things are going, having a friendly village to return to might be advantageous.
"We'll need transportation. Horses perhaps, to speed travel up. Or we can get a boat. I might be able to... persuade... someone to sell us a river craft. Traveling by water will certainly be much faster, and potentially safer. The safest way though, would be to travel by air, but right now Lynda and I are the only ones who can fly."
Kalar thinks on this, wondering if it's possible to kill and animate a group of birds and use them to lift the boat out of the water to travel through the skies. Ultimately, he discards the idea, deeming it both unfeasible and ridiculous. If he's going to acquire such a means of transportation, he'd rather it not rely on creatures that recent events have proven to be rather easy to destroy.
"It might also be useful to find a guide that will direct us to Perigon in the fastest manner possible. This is a humble fishing village, I'm sure we'll be able to hire some unfortunate peasant who wants to improve his lot in life. We certainly have enough money for such."

"I don't think we can do anything to help Voulton at this point in time, and I got the feeling that even if we could, he wouldn't want to. I think he wants to look Azedarc in the face and have a man to man conversation, and until he gets to do that, we are just interfering."
"I just wish I could say that I though we were going to see him again."
"I just wish I could say that I though we were going to see him again."
"Indeed. It would also be good to know if he has acquired any information that might be useful to us. However, on that note, we should also be careful in case he is sent against us. It's not a thought I relish, but we have to be open to the possibility. Now, I suggest we all get some rest. I am certain these peasants will be clamoring for either more entertainment or more healing in the morning."
Kalar considers that and says, "Actually, it might be to our advantage if you were to put on a little concert or something. It would certainly put all of them more at ease and willing to share information. That, and making them happy just might make it so that they're more open to us purchasing a boat of some sort."

The adventurers retired to their rooms for the night. They were able to get nice suites for what seemed to them to be almost nothing. The Inn keeper offered Kalar and Lynda free rooms, but the price hardly seemed to matter to the adventurers either way.
While the adventurers were settling in to their rooms, Rachelle glimpsed a shadowy figure lurking out the window. Rachelle quickly lost track of the shadowy figure as she leaned over to the window for a better look.

Lynda, feeling somewhat bored, decides to seek out a book. She remembers having acquired books at some point.
She finds out that the party possesses a multitude of books. She looks among them, and one catches her eye.
"The Enchiridon of...Agos?" Lynda thinks. She peers in to the book. "What is this written in? It looks fascinating...oh, where are my glasses? I wonder if Rob or Kalar would know..."
She first heads to Rob to inquire about her glasses, to read her book.

She first heads to Rob to inquire about her glasses, to read her book.
Distracted by reading, none of the others seemed to have seen anything out the window. It might have been nothing. It might have simply been one of the towns people.
While reading, Rob gets to a part of the book that describes an easy to remember hand motion. Practicing it, Rob could feel magic energies swirling around. They had just spoke of how they would travel, and Robs feels he might have the key to do just that. His book seemed to be teaching him the secrets of the teleportation spell. If only he could read this book faster. But when would try to speed up reading, the words wouldn't sink in and in moments he would feel as if he had not been reading at all. He was getting close to finishing though, no need to rush.
Kalar was even closer to finishing. His book read like a confusing series of riddles. Kalar felt as if he had been reading nonsense to himself the last time he took out this book. If it were not for the magic properties Kalar was sure this book possessed, he might have tossed it aside days ago. But something had clicked. As he read, he found himself on the last page of the book. His mind filled images of logical equations. He felt smarter after having read this book. The book itself seemed to be a huge let down. He had learn of arcane magic before, and was hoping the book would offer him more of an insight into the practice. He did manage to understand the usage of several of the spells in the book. However, he would need to tear them from the book and basically destroy them in order to make use of them. He also had the idea of keeping the book on hand. It would be a helpful reference in understanding arcane magic in the future.
Seeing how enthralled the others were with their books. Lynda joined in too. Even with her glasses though, Lynda could not read the book.
