"Right, while they're gone, I'd say we should explore the keep. But as we're not at full strength, it would be unwise for the two of us to head in alone. I do have a spell though, it will allow me to take control of a zombie and see through its eyes while it explores. It's fairly weak, but it should be able to tell us what's going on in there. While the spell is up though, I will have no control over my body and it will lie here as if asleep. Hrulgin will keep an eye on me, but I would appreciate it, friend Rob, if you kept an eye out as well. I will probably collapse after the initial part of the spell is finished, but don't worry, that is all part of the spell. It will take a while to channel the spell though."
With that said, Kalar orders one of his zombies to approach. He focuses on his holy symbol, meditating and gathering divine energy. 30 minutes later, with all the divine energy needed gathered, he stands. He approaches the zombie and then removes it's eyes. He then jams his fingers into his face, plucking his eyes out. He places his eyes into the zombie's eye sockets, and then falls to the floor.
With the zombie under his direct control and now able to perceive the world through its senses, Kalar/Zombie looks around. He/It mentally commands five skeletons and one bloodhulk to accompany him/it, and heads for the keep.

"...doing?" asked Claire. Though she received no answer she dropped the subject. She was in a state of shock and awe. In front of her, Voulton, and Rachelle, a huge silver dragon loomed. In a large cavern, the dragon easily stood 20ft. The cavern seemed empty except for a very large chest, and a huge, crude bed.
"You were only suppose to bring back the artifacts, Dan Rottlewits," boomed the dragon.
"They said they wouldn't hand them over unless they met you. I suppose now they have. Well, do you all have any questions before I send you back?" Dan asked.
Lynda continued to snooze. Rob continued to read. Kalar embarked on a search of Nathaire's lair. He reached the room where they found Claire before looking around and silently deciding where to go next. With Kalar gone and Rob nostril deep in a magical tome, only Hrulgin was left to notice Lynda fading more than normal. He was too focused on looking out for trouble to notice though, so Lynda's change in status went unnoticed.

Kalar/Zombie moves forward, with the skeletons ahead of him/it as a trap screen. He/It heads north (room 24) towards the room the others were in previously. He/It wasn't there when the others explored it previously, and he/it wants a look through for anything they might have missed.
Hrulgin looks, trying to keep an eye out for any dangers.
He turns to Rob and says, "Rob, keep an eye on Kalar and Lynda, will you. I'm going to scout around. I'll be back in less than an hour. If I don't, assume I've been destroyed. If that happens, try to wake Kalar."
Hrulgin moves off then, scouting around the area upriver away from the keep. He stays on the banks though, as he would rather not have to swim. He's looking out for any sign that they might have been followed.

After Hrulgin leaves, Rob says to Stumpy, in a decent impression of Hrulgin's voice "'If I am not back in an hour, assume I have been destroyed'"
"That guy kows how to make a dramatic pronouncement sound mundane"
Rob checks the angle of the sun, and moves his seat closer to Kalar and Lynda before going back to his book.

Kalar/Zombie orders some of his/its skeletons to rummage about the bones for anything interesting. If there are complete skeletons among the bones, he'll/it'll get his/its skeletons to bring them outside and then return, He/It then orders one of the other skeletons to open the next door and enter the room.

The lumberjack nods to the dragon. "Hello. My name's Voulton." It's always polite to introduce yourself, even if all they're interested in is your stuff. "I do have a question. What do you hope to get out of all this? Azedarac's got his inquisition, Moriamis has her scholars. Sephora apparently had a thing for men... where do you two stand? Why have you chosen to break the curse while others have chosen to make this their playground?"
As he waits for an answer, he thinks of the men he came in with and how quickly they turned to savages when it became obvious they were locked away from home. He thinks of the man who had come through with Kalar's company and decided to drop everything and become a cook at a shitty bar. These are the times that try mens souls.. and what has made the dragon and Dan decide the way they have?

An idea appeared in Rachelle's head upon the mention of Sephora.
"Dan mentioned that everyone initially affected by the curse came back to life after a while, but when we came back from doing Sephora's bidding we found her dead, and had seemingly been dead for a long time. Even if she found a... fatal way of escaping the curse, why wasn't she resurrected like the others?"
...what could have changed with their meddling of time to cause her to drop dead and stay dead, anyway? Did the wights that appeared to haunt her tower have something to do with it?
...would this be the same sort of problem that the ring has?

The dragon spoke, "Averoigne is unstable. There is no peace to be found here. I have perceived events that tell me that forces are at work to make this curse unbreakable. Adventurers have been showing up less and less. Without new adventurers being drawn into Averoigne, the artifacts will not reset. If the adventurers stopped and the artifacts destroyed, nothing would be able to break this curse. After that, I believe forces would begin battling for this pocket kingdom. Such a battle would have many casualties. I do not wish to witness such a battle. I believe some of your group are good natured, but the fate of this kingdom can not be allowed to rest solely in your hands. Deliver the artifacts, for the good of us all."
Kalar's undead minions began smashing down the door. The door fell after several swings. Behind the door, Kalar could see a large hideous floating beast.
