Kalar listens to what Dan says, trying to keep his anger at the man from clouding his judgment.

"What you say makes sense. I do have a question though, you must have a place you operate from, a stronghold of sorts. I will not ask where it is, as that would not be relevant to the discussion. My question though is, how would these items be kept safe? You said they would be with the silver dragon, but I am not entirely amenable to that as we do not know this individual and he is known only to you. If it is absolutely necessary though, I suppose I can be convinced, but as I said before I would rather it be someone we both know."

"In addition, why did the walls begin to close in, how did you know they would at that precise time, and what will you do if it happens again?"

"Well said! And a very nice vision indeed! Personally, I just want to go home.. though I'd hate myself forever if I left behind people who still needed me... and I'd probably get hung if I didn't have some treasure to show our Queen..." Worry begins to set into Voulton's face "Especially now that I've pawned the armor they gave me... that they said was so valuable..."



EDIT:"That's a good question, Kalar! How did you just happen to be there to stop the walls and contact us?"

"Oh, I thought I explained that already. I mistakenly caused the mishap myself. It should not happen again, because I won't cast that spell anywhere near the barrier again. As for knowing the silver dragon, I can take up to three of you to see him right now if you would like," said Dan.

"I suppose I'm game. What should I expect? Is he related to the Green Dragons?"

Kalar considers this.

"That is satisfactory, I suppose. Voulton, Rob, and Rachelle could go, while Hrulgin and I stay behind here to continue tending to Lynda and to further explore this keep."

Then Kalar thinks for a while and then says, "Or, one of you three could stay behind while lady Claire goes to see the dragon. She will certainly be safer there than here."

Hmm.. now that the spell's in effect: "Lady Claire, what's up with you? How are you still so... noble after being imprisoned for who knows how long? How have you survived?"

Claire, having only just woke up and not yet fully stood up from her sleeping area looked around, surprised that the conversation she was sort of listening in on had turned her way. "Dragon!? What? Really?! If you're sure it's safe, I would like to see one, yes," Claire said as she got up and fixed her hair. "As far as what I've been through, I've been through worse. I've been kidnapped three times. The time when I was seven was worse than this. I had never seen a walking skeleton before, but it seemed nice enough."

Voulton laughs. "Fair enough.. man, this is a really weird place." He takes out one of his throwing axes and shows it to Dan. "They THROW these things here! Can you believe that?"

EDIT:
"I did have a few more questions though, real quick: You do promise not to do anything to jeopardize the sword or mirror, right? We don't want to wait and find 'em again any more than you do. You promise too that the Silver Dragon won't do anything as best as you know, or any of his agents, any of your agents, etc. etc.... and what the heck kind of spell were you playing with that almost knocked the walls down?"

"Very well, then I suppose that is everything decided. Voulton, who is going with you? I have to stay here to tend to our patient, so I'm out."

Kalar leaves out that he doesn't want to get anywhere within a mile of a silver dragon. He's died once, maybe twice, already, and has no intention of doing it again.

"I'm not the leader. The others have to make their own decisions."

"The spell that cracked the barrier is the same spell I plan on casting on the ring. It's meant to dispel even the most ancient of magic. It shouldn't have any effect on normal magic though, but I apologize if I disenchanted anything of yours. I was attempting to see if any of you were illusions as I explained," said Dan. "Finally, I promise that nothing will happen to the items while with the dragon. They will be readily available when the time comes to break the curse. So who all is coming?"
Claire walked over to Dan, "Me, I'd like to see a dragon. How are we getting there and why don't we all travel together, won't it be safer?"

"I'm staying here for now. I will tend to Lynda and then explore that keep. There may yet be powerful items to be had, and if luck is with us, as it usually isn't, we might even be able to clear it out and convert it into a stronghold for our own use."
