The bears continued to approach. Lynda flew towards them to scout them out. They were now within a few hundred yards of her. Their size compared to normal bears could be plainly seen then. These four bears were huge. They also seemed to have bones sticking out from beneath their skin. Lynda remembered something she was taught when she was young, about dire animals. She believed these could be dire bears.
Kalar awoke. As he stood up, the difference in height was instantly noticeable. He was back to the height he had been before this whole messed started. Kalar removed his gloves to look upon his new hands. They were silver but the look of undeath on them was clear. Information about his new powers flowed into his mind. He could tell that his spells would no longer malfunction, though he thought he might miss the possibility of such massive destruction. Kalar looked around at his bloodhulk minions and then off in the directions the others had gone. How long would it take to catch up with them and when he did would they accept his changes?
Kalar looks at his hands. This could certainly be most advantageous. The loss of the small armor is a concern, but one that can be dealt with. But no time for that now, the others had been on the move for quite some time. Probably a good idea to head on after them.
However... might not be a good idea to just appear in the state he's in now. Kalar holds up his holy symbol and focuses on Rob. He then releases the energy gathered into a message for the bard:
"Have met my deity. Been changed into undead. Still myself, will honor oath to party. Have answers about curse. Will come as quickly as possible."
With that, Kalar decides to test his new undead body and heads off at a fast sprint in the direction the others went. If he's right, he should be able to keep up the sprint indefinitely. Most advantageous indeed.

"They don't look afraid of u! Wonder if *ANY* of the combat advice I was ever given is true! Anybody know any good tricks?!" Voulton gets ready to defend the wagon (which is hopefully turning around and going the other way) and really hopes someone has something up their sleeves.
Hrulgin looks over at Kalar, slightly concerned. "Er, boss, you do know that your entire head is silvery now, right?"
"What?" Kalar comes to a halt.
"How obvious is it?"
"Pretty obvious, boss. You look like you're made of metal."
"Hmm, well, that's not good. I have a some tools to disguise myself, but I have no talent for that sort of thing. I suppose I'll just have to deal with it once we regroup with the others."
With that, Kalar and the rest start sprinting towards the party again.

Rob charged the bears. He did his best to be inspiring as he stabs a one of the hairy beasts on his ride past the sleuth of bears. His stab was shallow, doing what seemed like very little damage to the bear. Lynda's arrows followed. They stuck into the bear's hide without even causing a flinch. One of the bears turned around to face Rob. Rob managed to stay just out of reach of the bear's swiping paws for the time being. The rest of the bears charged the wagon. The horses pulling the wagon panicked. With a swipe of it's paw, the lead bear tore the throat out of one of the two horses with another bear tackling the other horse to the ground. The wagon shook violently. Rachelle and Voulton knew then that avoiding a fight would not be possible.
While running, Kalar's foot catches on a tree root and he plants onto the ground face-first before the inertia causes him to tumble a few more feet. One of the blood hulks, unable to stop quickly enough, steps on Kalar's hand. Painfully.
"Blast."
Kalar picks himself up off the ground and dusts off the dirt from his cloak. He holds up his divine symbol, channeling energy through it, and then releases it into himself to heal up what injuries he took.
"Dash it all. I wish I was back with the others, safe in the wagon without having anything to worry about at all for a few hours."
Kalar turns to Hrulgin and says, "Hrulgin, keep moving towards the party with the blood hulks. I'm going to take a different route, but I'll still be able to keep the rest of you in sight."
Kalar once more lifts his holy symbol, channeling energy into it again. He releases it into himself, willing divine power to allow him to walk through the air.
With that done, he dashes up into the air as if walking on stairs to get up around twice the height of the trees. Once up, he'll continue sprinting towards the party, but with a much better aerial view of the situation. Hopefully, he'll get a glimpse of the party in the distance, with any luck. Still, they've been gone for hours, so it's sure to take a lot of time to catch up to them.
Spontaneously converted Bless into an Inflict spell.
Cast Air Walk, allows Kalar to tread on air for 80 minutes.
