Boom!
This explosion was very close. The party watched as the pieces of the monster they were preparing to fight scattered around the rock formation. The party approached cautiously.
A large grey giant stood to the right of the rock formation with an arm outstretched towards the beast. A dozen of the beasts sprung into the air then. A hail of arrows from somewhere in the air shot down one of the beasts. A dark light shot out of the forest and hit two more. They both dropped dead.
The party seemed to have stumbled into a battle of some sort.

"Right, lads. Might be best if we hang back for a bit. If we press on ahead to find the werewolf, we might stumble into more of this battle. And if we charge in now, that giant just might kill us. I suggest we keep low for now, and move only after this battle is over. Or at least until there's a lull that we can take advantage of."

Voulton nods, eyeing the combat with some dread now that a giant's involved. Whispered softly to the others: "I hope he doesn't try to talk to me about rock throwing and slaughter, I think I'd just die. I'm willing to wait for a lull, but I think these uys are winning. They might be mad that we didn't try to help 'em."

"Do you suggest we attack the beasts then?"

"Yes. Attack them while they're still there to let these people know we're friends. If they try to attack us too, we run for the hills." What's the worst that can happen?

"Good plan. Now, Voulton, if you would be so kind, accompany me to that dead beast and I will animate it. That will at least give us another ally."

Kalar then orders his ghosts to unleash their abilities on the remaining beasts. He distributes his javelins amongst the skeletons, and orders them to hurl the javelins at any of the strange beasts that come close.

While the party talks, the fighting continues. Four more of the beasts fly out of what the party can now see is a cave. A blue haired man in fancy clothes flies up to meet them in melee combat. He doesn't have wings, a weapon, or any sort of item carrying him. He seems to be flying magically. Many of the beasts fly up to attack him, but none of them are able to land a hit. He begins punching them.
More arrows fly in. The party can see now that the arrows are coming from a person riding a giant four winged bird. The giant takes out some sort of long crystal rod from a pack on it's back and throws it at the flying beasts. It sticks into one.
Closer now, the party can also see two more figures. One looks to be a tall cleric in white and black robes. The other is a very short silvery bug looking person. Neither of the two seem too interested in the battle.

Lynda's arrows begin to fly in. All but one of her arrows hit's it's mark. Voulton runs in. He makes it to the fallen beast but doesn't see anything in range to attack. Kalar, close behind Voulton, reaches down and prepares the beast to be animated. His skeletons, now armed, all threw javelins are the beasts. Four of them hit beasts but one of them came close to hitting the blue haired man. Kalar's ghosts flew up tot he beasts and began to haunt them. One of them possessed one of the beasts while others howled, glared, and drained the beasts. One of the beasts fell due to the ghost's attacks. Two other beasts flew towards the ground, away from the ghosts in a panic.
Rachelle and Tammytharn hung back.
A hail of spikes shot from two of the beasts at the giant. The giant took the hits without even flinching. The rest of the beasts attacked the blue haired man. One managed to scratch his arm, but the man didn't seem to care.

The giant, blue haired man, the cleric, and the silvery bug turned to look at the party. They continued their assault on the beasts however. The crystal rod the giant threw before exploded. The blue haired man flew back from the beasts, having been close to the explosion and looks down at the giant with disdain.
The person on the four winged bird shot down more of the beasts with their arrows. Only two beasts remained in the air as Lynda's arrows came back in for another attack. They hit one of the other beasts damaged by the explosion. It fell. Voulton rushed over to attack one of the fleeing beasts as it reached the ground. Voulton's giant axe sunk into the beasts' spiky hide. Kalar then raised one of the beasts as a zombie.

The battle ended as the cleric shot beams of dark light at the remaining living beasts. The party then found themselves being eyed by this new group.

"Oh my." Lynda thinks. "What a lively crew..."

Lynda puts her amulet on, and plays it off as adjusting her jewelry.

"Hello, travelers. We heard the sounds of a quarrel, and came in to help, though you fellows seem more than capable. My name is Lynda." She gives a bow. "May I have the honor of knowing yours?"

Kalar summons all of his undead to himself. He doesn't mount the manticore yet, as he's not quite sure how things are going to turn out.

This other party seems to be of the righteous sort, so might be best to let the others do the talking.

He whispers to Lynda, "If they ask and if they take offense at necromancy, say that I am your prisoner and am serving you to repay my crimes or something similar."

Kalar observes the cleric, looking for any sign as to which god he serves.

A beam of dark light smashes into Lynda to no effect.
"Hey, hey, hey," says the blue haired man. "Don't just outright attack people like that. Are you ok miss?" The blue haired man flies over to Lynda with a look of honest concern on his face.
"You're too soft Alexander," cried the cleric.
"I'm sorry for my friend," said the blue haired man, named Alexander. "My name is Alexander. Thank you for your assistant with those manicores. However, your assistants was unnecessary."
The person riding the four winged bird flew down then, towards Kalar. "What are you doing to that manicore," she questions Kalar. Voulton and Kalar looked up to see a very young Helena on top of the four winged bird.
Tammytharn and Rachelle approached closer. They looked these new people over closely. The giant was bald and grey. He was likely a stone giant by Rachelle's reasoning. The giant had large tattoos on it's body and small crystals floated around it. A sack on it's back held more than a dozen of the crystals it threw before.
The cleric seemed evil to Tammytharn. The holy symbol of Nerull he wore was all Tammytharn could focus on when looking at him.
The silvery insect man had a mercurial flow to his skin that reminded the party of a certain skeleton's arm. It flew around oh silvery insect wings after the battle looking closely at the bodies. The only thing in it's possession not silvery was a sack on it's belt.
Helena was wearing the same armor and had the same bow as the party had seen before. She was much more attractive though. If the Kalar had to guess, he'd say she was more than two hundred years younger. The bird she flew on looked like a perfectly terrible monster. Four eyes, Four wings and no legs made the creature a terrible yet awesome sight.
Lynda looked at the blue haired man. He was dressed as a royal. He had on red clothes with white and gold highlights. He was very handsome and held himself with grace and control.
"Why aren't you dead," cried the cleric in Lynda's direction.

Lynda completely ignores the cleric who just attempted to murder her, and focuses on Alexander, who seems more civil.

"Oh no, I'm fine, I'm fine...shook up from whatever that was, but I'm pretty sure I'm fine." She says. "No, we felt it was our duty to help you guys out. Many hands make light work, after all. I am Lady Lynda. Would you be so kind as to introduce me to your companions?"

She gives an elegant curtsy. She turns to Kalar.

"Oh, very well Kalar, my dear assistant. I mustn't forget..." She says. She looks back to Alexander. "Pardon me for a moment..."

She walks over to Helena, and gives a slight bow.

"Helena dearest." Lynda says warmly. "It's been some time. A long time, actually, since we've last seen each other. No, we haven't met...but we will, in time. You helped to send us to the past. You told us of your quest, and what you did wrong. As fantastic as this sounds, that's why we've come here."

Helena draws her bow and a handful of arrows at the sound of her name and aims them at Kalar. As Lynda speaks, Helena lowers her arrows.
"This is nonsense," yelled the cleric. "These are likely agents from Sylaire sent to confront us. We should kill them all."
The silvery bug entered the manticore cave then. Returning quickly afterwards with a chest in it's many hands. It placed the chest near the giant and began picking the lock.
"Are we killing them?" asked the giant.
"No, said Alexander. "I believe they mean us no harm. They don't seem like fools. If they wanted to attack they would have had a better chance during our fight with the manticores. Instead they attacked the manticores. It might have been a ploy to gain our trust, but I wonder to what end."
"Lynda was it?" Alexander flies over to again be before Lynda. Alexander hushes his voice and says, "I believe you are very lost. You and your friends should leave here. First though, where is Sylaire Castle?"
