This is the first time Tammytharn has been in this room. She looks around curiously. She looks at the symbols on the vats and cauldrons, and she looks curiously at the book
I looked back, and I can't tell if the book is still sitting on the table, or if Lynda is carrying it around. At any rate, Tammytharn wants to look a it.
Kalar comes back and Galse and Rachelle are surprised to see a werewolf walking around with Tammytharn and Lynda. All questions of the Werewolf's identity are put at ease as Kalar gets into his speech.
Tammytharn finds the book on the counter. It's a huge book that would be hard to carry around. To Tammytharn, It seems to describe the creation process of making warforged. Tammytharn doesn't quite grasp all of the steps, but is interested in the book none the less.
Kalar arrives at the ghoul well and looks down, hoping an army of ghouls will climb out to serve him. Nothing comes out. Hrulgin shrugs. "It's very unlikely anything will climb out of there for days now. If we're going find things to recruit, we'll need to climb down."
The rest of the party settles down and prepares for the nightish time.

Tammytharn skims to see if the entire volume is all about warforged, or if it covers other topics as well.
That done she intends to search the room for any kind of incense. She would like to prepare an Augury spell for the following day, but she will not bother unless she can find incense and a handful of sticks or other small similar objects that she can mark with her ink or score with her knife to make a suitable focus.
If she doesn't find anything suitable inside the Warforged room, she will (carefully) search the hallway and other nearby rooms before it is time to sleep.

Kalar looks down the hole, trying to gauge how far down it goes.
"Hrulgin, the portal to the ghoul lands, is it a one-way thing? Or will I be able to enter and leave freely? Provided nothing stops us, that is."

Hrulgin explains how he's never been through the portal but he has seen guard ghouls enter and leave freely. Kalar gets Galse to guard the well and begins his decent.
Tammytharn discovers that the book contains instruction on the creation of a number of different types of warforged, constructs and other animated life forms. The last one being a large bull. She would need to study this book a lot more in order to truly understand how to perform the things this book is describing.
Kalar reaches the portal. He rebukes the guard, who even after being controlled is still silent. The guard leads him through the portal. After entering he finds himself in a massive underground cavern. A large stone tower sores above the rest of the city. In the distance, Kalar can make out hundreds of undead walking around the city. That's when he notices that the portal he came in, doesn't have a return portal on this side. He does see a few other portals in the distance.
Looking around, Tammytharn finds that this room is full of previously unnoticed mundane items. Tammytharn finds a fair amount of incense in drawers. She also finds a small broken box that she can easily pull apart and use as sticks. Ink is also readily available, as is parchment paper.
After waiting for as long as they cared to, the party barricaded the door assuming Kalar would knock if it was him. With Thistlewhistle in the middle of a bedroll circle, Rachelle and Lynda have all settled down to rest.
Kalar manages to talk to a small group of ghouls on the outskirts of the city. They inform him that the portal that leads back to where he came from is through a maze of streets designed to confuse intruders. They also explain how all the portals lead to different horrible places. When asked, the ghouls laughed at the idea of a portal to the material plane. They offered Limbo as an alternative. Taken with their visitor, the ghouls had some of their skeleton minions escort Kalar to the exit portal. However it was hours of travel and Kalar knew that his party would likely think he was dead by the time he returned.
The party slept after Tammytharn saw to Lynda's wounds the old fashion way. Before going to sleep, Rachelle checked on Galse. The night past uneventfully with Kalar not returning the next day. Galse stoically stood guard all night, but now assumed Kalar had died. The party woke to find Thistlewhistle still asleep, Kalar gone, and a strong depression shared by the party. They were dropping like flies.
Kalar takes a short rest on his journey to the portal. He wakes feeling refreshed and with his troop of undead starring at him, seemingly the whole time. It was as if they had never seen someone sleeping before. Kalar reached the portal after a few more hours of travel, but stopped to gain the favor of the skeletons he had gather around him on his travels.
The whole party, aside from Kalar, gains 11,450 xp.
Kalar gains 6,230 xp.
Healing equals con+level. Lynda gains double that because of Tammytharn's healing.

Refreshed and ready to go, Kalar decides to head through the portal. Before doing so though, he looks around, trying to see if there might be anything that could help him in his situation. Ghouls he might ask for information, skeletons to bring under his command, friendly (or at least not hostile) undead he might trade with, or even just helpful-looking landmarks.
Kalar doesn't want to spend too much time though, as he has now been gone far longer than the couple of hours he had said he would be gone. The others certainly believe him to be dead by now, so it would be a good idea to hurry up so that he might catch up with them before they head through the Gate of Silver Keys. He doesn't want to return to find them gone and himself trapped in the castle.
*How many minions does Kalar have now? And how many of those are followers and how many are commanded? Just want to make sure to update my character sheet correctly.

Upon waking, Tammytharn meditates on her spells for the day. She prepares a couple Augurys, glad that she has found the focuses she needs to use them.
On a whim, she also decides to prepare a "Sending" spell.
When she is done meditating, and has had a bit to eat, she casts Sending, directing the message to Kalar, wherever he may be.
"What has become of you? We fear you must be dead."
Tammytharn also asks Lynda; "Have you seen any rubies? There is a spell I might want to cast another day, but I would need to crush a small ruby to dust". She knows that Lynda has been paying attention to jewelry, so she hopes Lynda might remember seeing rubies.
Tammytharn will spend any spare time reading the book about warforged. While not exactly in her wheelhouse, she finds it fascinating to read about the process that could bestow reason to an animate construction, Reason being the second most important Raoan virtue. If the party leaves the room, she will take the book with her. If she can fit it through the mouth of her Bag of Holding, then the size and weight of it will be no concern.
She has prepared a "Read Magic" spell in the hopes that it will help her understand the book a little faster, but she will not cast it until there is nothing more urgent to do.

Kalar recieves the mesaage, "What has become of you? We fear you must be dead." He's overjoyed with this as his worries of being left behind have now vanished. He responds with, "I'm down the well in the ghoul lands. Apologize to Galse for me for taking so long down here. I will be back soon." He now takes his time and fills up his ranks with skeletons and ghouls as much as he can before heading through the return portal.
Tammytharn sees everyone milling around and realizes that it will be unlikely that everyone will leave this room. She might need to persuade them to leave if she wants to hide the fact that she's taken the book. She also notices a few rubies on a necklace Lynda is wearing and wonders if Lynda will allow her to break her necklace to get those rubies.

Tammytharn repeats Kalar's message.
"Kalar is alive, and making his way back from the Ghoul Lands. Galse, he sends you his apologies for being so late"
Tammytharn intends to make no secret of her interest in the warforged spellbook. She will take it in plain sign of the others, and if somebody wants to object, they can argue it out then.
Seeing the rubies in Lynda's necklace, Tammytharn rephrases her question.
"Lynda dear, have you noticed any loose rubies anywhere in the castle? I need a small one to crush for a spell. If you know where to find one, I would be glad of it. I know there are some rubies in your necklace, but I wouldn't dare think of those. The magic nullification of that strange thing seems to be a greater blessing than it is a curse... and it looks so good on you!"
Clarification: She wanted to wait until leaving the room to take the book because she wants to take it with her, in case they move their camp to some other location, not because she wanted to conceal taking it. Right now she can sit and study it without taking it.

"Rubies?" Lynda says. She does a quick check through her inventory, but doesn't seem to find any. "Out of all the precious gemstones I've gathered, there appear to be no rubies among the ones I collected."
"However..." Lynda says, handing her ruby necklace over to Tammy. "I hope this could be of good use. It is a rather nice piece as you said, but perhaps you could fetch a ruby or two out of it without completely ruining it. And even if it is roughed up in the process, I have a backup necklace. Buyer beware though, I have no idea if that thing has magic or not."
Lynda then puts on her second necklace to replace the one she just gave to Tammytharn.

Tammytharn beams with delight. She had been confused by the jumble of jewellery that Lynda had been wearing, and had mistakenly assumed that the glint of rubies she had noticed near Lynda's neck was from the unremovable magic-nullifying necklace.
Tammytharn considers casting Detect Magic on the necklace, but then decides that the spell would be wasted on a single item, and that she should save her castings of it for exploring unfamiliar rooms of the castle. Instead she uses her Hand of the Mage to levitate the necklace to see whether or not it is magic.
If non-magical, she will search for a blunt tool to smash one of the rubies. If she succeeds, she will store the powder for later, folded up tightly in a sheet of parchment.

For future notice, Galse is more of a "I'll know he's dead when I see the body" kind of guy. Not gonna give up 'cause a few hours pass.
Galse is pleased to hear this news! He'll be sure to keep watching the rope and make sure no one attempts to sabotage his return. Weird the prejudices that can form against Necromancer Wolfman and how they can tempt people to cut ropes...

Tammytharn puts a parchment bookmark into the warforged tome, and looks around.
"I SEEM to remember the werewolf Clover saying we would have to LEAVE the castle in order to break the curse... I was under the impression that we could NOT leave the castle until the curse was broken, but perhaps I was wrong."
She continues, somewhat self-consciously
"Now PERHAPS I am a blind fool for not noticing, but I can't remember even so much as a WINDOW opening to the outside. Has anyone seen any windows? Perhaps if we could find one, we could get an idea of the shape of the castle, and which direction we should go to find an exit... or failing that, we might just let down a rope and climb down over the rooftops and battlements."

Everyone besides Tammytharn has seen a few windows. They really hadn't thought it, until Tammytharn brought it up. Tammytharn would have seen the windows too, had she ventured farther out of the dungeon. Everyone pictures the grey mist out side each window. They describe how the mist seemed to have killed their pack animal and how terrible bugs crawled in and out of it.
Lynda describes the sight of the castle through a window she had looked through in the ogre's bedroom. She had checked it to make sure no one could see her change. She didn't know it at the time but she could see the 4 domes of the indoor forest from that window. The grey mist covered every inch of the ground outside the castle and only the top half of the castle was out of the mist's reach.
