X-ZOM is totally a joke of a working title, but it makes it pretty obvious what I am trying to do: Make tactics-style game-play into survival horror. I have a whole slew of ideas for this. Zombie

But some burning questions:

Is it reasonable to ask someone playing the game on an Android phone to select a single 20x20 tile accurately? Or do I need to use larger tiles? 32x32 maybe?

Also is it possible to hide the button overlay on Android?

(Also I am going to update OHR Pal someday, because I'm using it again. I think it needs a 'preview slice dissolve' window... Does anyone else use it? I was shocked to see today that it throws a compiler error now, because of my admittedly odd decision to copy-paste scancode.hsi in full into the file. I don't think it even uses the keyboard for anything, lol. V )

General comments and concerns about the super vague game idea are welcome in this thread, too!

This depends a lot on screen size. I think it would be no problem to select 20x20 on my own phone, but it is a Nexus 5, with a slightly largish screen.

Yes, look in "Edit General Game Data" -> "Platform Specific Options"

It might be a little tough on my mini phone, but mine is unnaturally small.

Sounds like (starting with the title) a nice project!

ohrpal.hss was very cool. I keep it ready for use, but haven't had the occasion to make use of it lately.

On my phone, which I think is a typical size for an Android phone where the screen covers most but not all of the front, a 20x20 tile is only about 4-5mm across. That's probably half the size of the buttons on the virtual keyboard, and even those I probably only hit 70% accurately.

So I think you need to find an easier UI. One solution is to make use of dragging: by dragging your finger you can compensate for inaccurate finger position according to visual feedback. Zooming the grid on which you're selecting a tile as you grid makes this even easier. Or just make precision selection unimportant.
