Hello, all! Just thought I'd spread the word about my first large scale OHR project, pH! At present, there isn't really even enough in the game for a 5 minute demo, so I'll start by just posting some screenshots:

Title Screen

Place with things

The game's hacking system. Remember the boulder puzzles in Pokemon?

Battle system

These aren't your grandpappy's stats! (In order: Life, Battery, RAM, Accuracy, Firewall, Dodge, Cores, Antivirus, Processor, Parry, Power Saving, Hit )

--------------------------------------

Some of the game's exciting features include:
+ High definition 1-bit graphics!
+ Fighting, not with weapons, but with phones!
+ Dejected desk workers!
+ Rougelike-boulder-pushing-hacking action!
+ Music by Kevin MacLeod!
+ And more!

Appearing soon, at a Gamestop near you!

Interesting graphical style there. Reminds me of some of the older computers I fiddled around with when I was in elementary school--the little old gray-box Macintoshes they had sitting around in my elementary school classrooms for a couple years early on, and this old laptop my dad had for several years (which I used to type up random stories when I was 7 or so) before we got a new-at-the-time one. I think it's the whole "only black and white, not even shades of gray" thing, with different patterns of dots/dithering to make different shades or textures.
FYS:AHS -- Swapping out some step-on NPCs for zones + each step script
Puckamon -- Not until the reserve party is expanded.[/size]

Original Macintosh is EXACTLY what I was going for. Smile

Wait.... so is this game about acids and bases? Is your character's stats based on his pH value? That sounds amazing! And strange.... I'm confused.

Let me straighten out the story for you...
The game is based (no pun intended) in a future not far from present day. A tyrannical government rules by force, and surveillance cameras watch everything anyone does. The main character's name is Väte, which is Swedish for Hydrogen (according to Google Translate, at least). He is extremely adept with computers, and can hack through practically anything imaginable. The program he uses is called Syre.exe (which means Oxygen, again according to Google Translate).

Ok, so there's basically a sciency theme to everything? That sounds pretty awesome. Also, that plot just sounds really interesting. I can't wait to play this.

pH is now on Game Jolt. No download link, though.
Officialesque Gamejolt Description:

A future, not so far from our own.

A government, ruling citizens through fear.

A child, with enough computer knowledge to take down the country's electrical grid.

A story, waiting to be told.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Featuring 1-bit graphics, akin to the early Commodore PET and Macintosh!

An active-time battle system, much like Final Fantasy IV!

Hack computers by solving puzzles, or fight for your life among the twisted beings that roam the streets!

Only you have the power to save the country, and perhaps even the world...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hmm, cool. So there will be a lot of boulder pushing puzzles? Nice initiative in actually trying to promote it elsewhere.
