The title is misleading.

What I REALLY wanted to ask is: is there currently a super secret way in the OHRRPGCE to make a game with a custom icon, or if not, will there ever be?
Or should I actually put some effort into a HotOHR game and request it...
Nah. Probably not.

Thank you very much! I had just assumed that, since the vast majority of OHR games don't have custom icons, there would be know way to change it.

Well after looking into it, I can see why. It requires quite a bit of effort if you've never compiled with FreeBasic before or have one of those programs. For a Mac user (like me) it's just more work than it's worth right now.

Thanks for this! If ever I make any headway on Melituri Madness, I'll be sure to come back to that article! V

You don't need to recompile Game to change the icon. As that page states, on Windows you can use a tool to do that. On Mac it's simpler, you just open the .app (control-click and select "Show Package Contents") and replace the Contents/Resources/game.icns file within it. The tricky part is creating the .icns file. The best thing to do appears to be to use an app for that; here is a free one (which I've never used. The Dustribute Game menu ought to handle icons, but it's obviously pretty low priority.

Edit: updated the page with instructions for Mac
