As for distribution you will need to use the "Distribute Game" menu in the game editor. It should be fairly straight forward. One thing to note is that on Mac you'll only be able to distribute a Mac version and a Linux Version. Distributing a Windows version will require you to have the program "Parallels" or "Wine Bottler," or you can easily ask another trusted Slime Salad user that runs on Windows to distribute it for you.

Let me continue to ramble on about how awesome this is! I absolutely love the graphical style! Very unique. I can tell by some of the text that it will have some nice comical elements. I think your personal background sounds nice too, it would make for a good Kickstarter. What I mean is you have a nice motivation for what you are doing, just don't turn it too much in to a sob story because people may not like that. A bit of drama is always good when playing up a campaign though.

I pretty pumped. I want to beta this! Looks so good. Do you have music already? I say this because trippy ambient stuff is my specialty, and I haven't seen any other game makers that my music would really suit asides from yours, and my own games.

Can't you distribute a .zip containing game.exe for Windows? That's what superawesomeric seems to have done.

@TMC: Oh, my bad. I suppose the .ZIP contains the Windows playable files. I just thought because the line that says "Can't Export Windows Installer (requires Windows or Wine)," that that meant Windows distribution would not work on my computer.

Or is the .ZIP version a strictly Windows executable file? I thought the .ZIP contained a .RPG file that only be run using GAME. I guess that's what was asked for...

Oh. Yeah, that's not clear at all. "Export .ZIP" packages a stand-alone game for Windows. Creating an installer for Windows unfortunately requires Windows because the installer creator we use is Windows-only.

Okay. I can see that if I want to make a stand-alone executable version of my game for Windows then I'd simply use "Export .ZIP." So what exactly is an installer? I'm sorry if this seems like a silly question, I'm just not sure I'm familiar with what the term would mean in this regard.

@superawesomeric: I tried the game out. It's great! I haven't played a whole lot yet so what I'm about to say may be something that appears in the game that I am not yet aware of. Here it goes, I think that the game should have little bit more output for the amount of player input.
For example:
-you could have a button which shoots a cannon
-you could have NPC's that avoid, or chase you (you could even make contacting these NPC's warp you to another room unintentionally)
-you could have NPC's that have many textboxes (so they say something different to you each time you repeat talking to them.
-You could add some conditionals if you know some basic coding, like if you've been in a certain room 3 times, then it starts to rain, or a new guy appears, or the colour is different...
-You should add a vehicle. This is easy to do without any knowledge of coding. Perhaps make a boat so you can cross a certain waterbody, or reach an islad
-With learning some simple coding you could even make certain characters groan, or beep when you talk to them. Or change your characters sprite temporarily to make it look like they're cheering.

The game looks very polished already. I presume if you started a Kickstarter Campaign you would mainly be adding in extra features, more polishing, offer donators the chance to add in special NPC's, rooms, etc...?

I love this game so far! I'm sad that I randomly died to harm tiles after a long period of not saving, but I'll try to do more exploring later.

So far the item/equipment obtaining elements feel completely chaotic, but from the dialogue with NPCs and Vittoria's mirror monologues, I think I'm beginning to get a handle on why that is.

Some of the NPC dialogue had me laughing out loud, these are some seriously funny (sometimes funny-sad) one liners and I am eating them up.

EDIT:
My main gripes with the game are:

* Not being able to return to a central/neutral area (like in Yume Nikki where Madotsuki pinches her cheek to wake up) means that ending up on the same 'long' route of doors/teleports can be tedious. It would be nice to reset to the starting area and find other paths if the player feels like they're covering the same ground all over again. Also having a reliable save point if someone wants to save their game and quit for whatever reason!

* A seeming inability restore HEART, which makes finally being able to save your game after a long period feel kind of negative if you lost health, and means that you will eventually be unable to continue your current game because a random unavoidable harm tile will kill you instantly.

So with gripes out of the way, I totally adore this game and the level of detail. The dialogue is wonderful in that it alternates between (or sometimes deftly combines) out-of-left-field hilarity and really poignant, emotionally resonant ideas and observations. Even though it has "no RPG gameplay" I really appreciate the amount of exploratory content, it feels really engaging and fun. With some more polish I could totally see this being a cult classic exploration game.

I'll be honest, haven't read all your initial post (I have reading problem lately and I don't know why), but I'll make this post detailing my adventures in the game.

1 - Okay, blank title screen, please fix, I can't stand a blank title screen

2 - digging the music

3 - makes me feel like I'm playing "Magicant: The Game"

4 - so much undies

5 - walking on wolf-fish makes ded

The game is rather nicely done, feels like some weird creature's decent into madness

on a personal note, I need to keep away from the creepy/weird games like this more often due to my crumbling mental state

I played for a while last night.

Classy! (and it even has a Class stat I can try to max)

This is very visually appealing. I love the maps, not just the quality of the tilework, but the color choices and overall composition as well.

It does feel as if little Vittoria is lost in a psychedelic art gallery.

What are your plans for the game? Is it complete? Do you still have more stuff you want to add, and if so, what?

You mentioned a kickstarter. What are your plans for that?

When you have the game finished, if you are interested in Android porting and OUYA Console porting, just let me know, I can help.

Is there a way to win the game yet, or is it all non-linear wandering?

I could not find any place to save after I left behind the shop. Is that the only place where you can save? What was the reason for that decision?

The clothing descriptions made me laugh. I also liked that the only shoe I ever found could only be equipped on her head. Is there any point to the equipment other than smiles?

After a while, I found myself trapped on a giant spider-web. I could walk around and talk to vaguely chauvinist spiders, but I could not find any exit. There were harm tiles around, and I eventually died there. Did I miss something? or was that a "bad ending" map?

I am also curious about the music. It sounded great, but I thought I heard an obscure Beatles tune in the mix, and I know that even in an indie art-game, pirated music can lead to an unfortunate cease-and-desist (Isn't that what happened to The Wobbler's promising Village People game?)

Anyway, great work, and welcome to the community!
