I was wondering if it's possible to open, make changes in and save a .RPG file in a nightly version released, say, yesterday, and then open that .RPG in a nightly that was released a week earlier without any conflicts. I know that taking a nightly .RPG file back to Beelzebufo would be a bad idea but am unsure about compatibility between nightlies.
I'm asking because I'll be ping-ponging my game project between my desktop and my laptop. Working on graphical assets and scripts during my lunch breaks at work is going great so far.
The best solution is to switch to the same version (whichever is latest) on both computers. Also, all previous nightly builds are archived at http://gilgamesh.hamsterrepublic.com/nightly-archive/ if you want to standardise on something other than the current nightly.
But to answer your question I don't think there there been any changes to the .rpg format for several months at least. Going back to any version in the last month is definitely safe.
