One day I plan to sell my game, and I feel like this is a dick question because it makes me a hypocrite, but are there any measures in place to prevent piracy? Is there/ will there ever be a way to give an OHR game a serial or product number to prevent it from being spread illicitly? I know there could be keygens, but still.

Nope.
There is no built-in anti-piracy support.
I am sure it would be possible to plotscript some, but I can guarantee it would be way more trouble than it is worth.
Think of the bright side; you can advertise being "DRM-Free"!
That is the Indie-Game equivalent of Organic Grass-Fed Beef ;)

Haha, you got a point there. Aren't a lot of games swapping to DRM? A friend and I had got Diablo and Diablo 2, and then found out Diablo 3 was DRM so it was gonna be impossible, mainly because of my slow internet, but there was also the fact that Blizzard seems to be leading the way in making piracy impossible.
