Hola my bras! Is there any way to make it so you can have a group of heroes you can choose to be in your party, then switch them out while playing. Was thinking either at a shop where there would be a list of heroes you can choose from; Or they could all be like chillin in one room where you can go up and choose if you want them in your party and switch em out. I was gonna make it so you could play the game as any of like 10 characters that can all gain experience independently and you could switch out at any time. Thanx bras!!

Feel free to ask us anything at any time, someone on the forums is likely to answer. Whether or not they are sarcastic is for the future to hold. But welcome, new slime!

I have figured out how to make a store where you talk to a gnome dude and you can edit your heroes; removing or adding them. That is basically what I wanted to do! However, I want to make it so the heroes will keep their equipment and stats when I switch them out. So as to use the ninja when Im on a sneaky mission and a barbarian when hunting hydras etc... And they will each keep their experience to use on the next mission when I switch them out.

It looks like on the ohr homepage tutuorial it says u have to lock the character and then unlock him and soforth. This means that I have to create a series of complicated text boxes so that each individual hero can be switched with another? Or is there a simpler way? Are they saving experience automatically? I havent checked yet... I guess there could be multiple ways. Any ideas?

Every hero gains experience individually. (By default heroes that are swapped out, ie in the reserve party, don't gain any from battles, but that's optional.) They keep their equipment and all stats and experience when swapped out.

That article fails to mention that there is a built in menu, the Team (aka Party?) menu, that lets the player swap heroes in and out of the party, and change their order. Locking heroes prevents the player from using this menu to swap heroes in or out or reorder them, also locked swapped out heroes are hidden from it. There's also a restricted version, the Order menu, which only allows changing the order, not swapping heroes in or out.

If you want the Team menu available anywhere you can enable it in the main menu; just turn on the "Hero swapping always available" preference bitset in general game settings. (When that bit is off the Order menu appears instead.) If you want Team accessible only from a shop, go to the shop's "Select shop menu items" menu and turn on Team. Of course you could also create a room full of NPCs, one per hero, and let the player talk to the heroes they're recruited but swapped out.
Thx!!
