Okay, the moment of truth has arrived. The voting period has ended, the votes have been compiled, and the results have been tabulated. To find out how it all went down, check out the official results article here:

http://superwalrusland.com/ohr/Heart2014/HOHR2014.html

Note: I'm supposed to be getting a cross-posting at the Hamster Wheel soon for double the archive.

This year's contest was hard-fought, but in the end we found our winner, so please congratulate him or her.

If you've offered a prize, go ahead and make your plans with the winner and with anyone who satisfies your specific prize conditions. Here again is the list of prizes offered at the beginning of the contest and the names of the people who offered them. Please note that given the state of flux the community finds itself in constantly, some of the prize-givers may be temporarily absent.

Potential community offered prizes include:

-Cafepress T-shirts or swag for winner (courtesy Spoonweaver...and maybe Fenrir-Lunaris?).

-Funding for the swag site (courtesy Mystic). Note: This one's ambiguous to me.

-Custom Mousepads with a group image starring some of the OHR's most popular characters (courtesy RedMaverickZero).

-Reviews for each entry (courtesy Meatballsub)

-Cash prize of undetermined value (need confirmation) for winner (courtesy Meatballsub).

-Pizza delivery to winner or favored game (courtesy Willy Elektrix).

-Poster and icon for winning game (courtesy Ichiro).

-100 dogecoins..."fake Internet moneys" with dog memes (courtesy Bob the Hamster).

-Slimebucks of extremely low but increasing value to the top three winners (courtesy Meowskivich).

Special Prize for OHR Legends releases:

Any game categorized as an OHR Legends release will receive a special trophy classifying it as such. This is strictly a prestige award, but it will remind future players of the game's longevity. This trophy will receive "levels" each time it's awarded to a specific game. OHR Legends releases should still meet the 30 minutes of additional game time rule to be eligible for the trophy.

If you had offered a prize and I had forgotten to add it to this list, please let me know, or post it separately. I know some people inquired about offering a prize but never told me what they were offering.

And that's it. Congratulations to our winner and to those who really worked hard to release some stellar titles. Feel free to debate the results if you'd like.

Not one bit surprised to see what the winning game is--exactly the one I predicted it would be, actually. Good job on the 8-bit-ness, Pheonix.

All the random awards given to various games are one of those neat little touches that make HotOHR results more entertaining to read through than the average contest. "Beat Your Vegetables," "Panty Raider," "Vittoria's Secret," "Squeezable Enemies," "Purple Reign"...

Also, was not expecting Okédoké to come in third in its second HotOHR appearance, and its final contest appearance period. Guess the votes of the quiet fans made up for those of the sometimes a-lot-less-than-quiet haters.

Until the last-minute votes came in, his game, Winged Realm, was running in fifth place and Okédoké, our only Legends release this year, was holding the top spot.

...or maybe the haters just... didn't vote? Hooray for voter apathy! XD

[Or is that one comment referring to the field enemies?]

Anyway, I'm really happy to see Winged Realm got the placing it did. There's still a ton of things I want/need to throw into the areas that were in the hotohr release, much less all the things I have in mind for the rest of the game, but with that said I was (and still am) pretty happy with where it got to in the end. I'll definitely keep all the comments that were made on the game in mind moving forward, though.

Thanks for the lengthy writeup, it was quite interesting to read.

Wow, some interesting results there. I'm amused to hear at the rank-shuffling caused by the final votes. Honestly, the exact final ranking comes down to dumb luck. For example if I'd had time to play Okedoke and vote on it I expect it would have gotten 1st place. I'm also surprised that t4r4d1ddl3 ranked so highly when it seemed that most people refused to vote on it.

It's kind of unfair to dwell on the average score of the games being lower than previously as the two worst games were unofficial entries.

EDIT: I'd like to point out that Pepsi announced the 2016 contest on the results page, and the release window starts in less than 13 months from now! Gezonks!

I've got some fake internet moneys I can donate to the pool, if that's alright at this point.

By the way, I want to publicly thank the Wobbler for hosting the 2014 results. In an effort to keep the results for all Heart of the OHR contests consistently available at Super Walrus Land (home of HamsterSpeak magazine), I've asked him to archive the results for the old 2012 contest, too, which were originally hosted at the Hamster Burrow (2010's results are already available in HamsterSpeak volume #45). You can relive your memories here: http://superwalrusland.com/ohr/Heart2012/heart2012.htm

My goal is to have the results hosted in two locations minimum to prevent future vanishing from the Internet. Future civilizations should know what we've done here. For that reason, I also have plans to release the 2014 results at the Hamster Wheel (Meatballsub's OHR web page). Just wanted to keep you all posted.

As TMC mentioned, Heart of the OHR 2016 will be starting and finishing a few months earlier than usual. I want to see if changing the window works better for everyone's schedules. My hope is that 2016 will have the most productive turnout yet. The official Heart of the OHR wiki already has an entry set aside for the next one.

You can give any prize you want at any time for any accomplishment. The only thing I can't do is add your name to the results page's Thank You section, since it's already been published.

And that's it for now. You all may resume your congratulations to the winner.

Congratulations, Pheonix! To collect your 100 dogecoin fake internet moneys, get a dogecoin wallet client from here, http://dogecoin.com/ and then post a "Much Receive" address here. It will be a crazy string of giberish that looks similar to this example: DDLnGQ6NJp7grJSQNMnJ8WoxAjHzCfokne

I am still working on bug/feature requests, thank you all for your patience!

Willy, your prize may be one of the most heroic things anybody has done for an OHR contest winner. You deserve your own prize for that. Please be around for the next Heart of the OHR. Participate, certainly, but...pizza. Please be around then.

Really, thanks for offering that.

I still hope somebody will one day write a song about the winning game as a prize. Maybe in 2016?

P.S. I wish I had been able to announce a winner before the Super Bowl. Probably would've been a great time for Pheonix to collect his winnings.

Alright! Since James has already posted above how to collect a Dogecoin prize, I won't bother.

I am, however, giving out an unofficial prize of 1000 Dogecoin (About 14 cents) to the 1st place winner, 500 to the second, 250 to the third, and 100 to all other participants!

Yay, 3 and a half cents in fake Internet money! XD I'll get around to setting the thing up for that... eventually...

Oh, my "top 3 HotOHR winners" mousepad came in the mail today:

EDIT: Fixed a mishap with linking (...accidentally deleted the resized version rather than the original too-big one. Unfortunately "replace original" is not the default when resizing with Photobucket's built-in editor. >_<)

(Still waiting for my mousepad; in transit)

On the topic of prizes (bugs fixes), was the "Shop display fix" (RMZ's request) the problem with the trade-in text not wrapping?

Your mousepad got shipped a little later than I had hoped to, but it is on the way. Let me know if it doesn't make it!

And I've changed my request with James from Shop Display Fix to Status Effect Palette swapping for heroes and enemies.
