Well, February is here, and the countdown to Heart of the OHR 2014 is about to begin. So, let's take some time out to discuss our gaming goals for this year's contest and get the motivation going. Like the preproduction thread for 2012, we will use this thread to talk about possible games we might see in the coming year, games we're certain not to see, and ideas for improving the quality of the contest (or its entries) so that it might be the best one yet.

If you want to reminisce old times, you can check out the link to the first preproduction thread here:

http://www.slimesalad.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3982

So, what do you want to accomplish in 2014? Something unique? Something tried and true? Something finished? Sound off your thoughts, ideas, and discussion topics here while we prepare for the inevitable.

What games do you want to discuss, promote, or fawn over? Feel free to post anything you want related to the game(s) you're thinking about entering into the Heart of the OHR.

Remember, the contest itself begins in June, but it's never too soon to begin discussions. Unless you'd rather keep the community in suspense. If not, then let the discussions begin.

There's a chance "Merciful Mungbeans" will be released for the this, but as time has been flowing, I still feel like it's just turned 2012.

My goal is to get it out by that point, but I've been working on MM since Christmas time 2012 when the turn-based battle system was just released.

Will a demo be put out for it if it's not done? Nope. So if I'm not done by the time the contest deadline is over, then don't expect it.

But really, I swear it's only just turning 2013. Just proves how much life medical problems takes out of you...

Oh wow, I can't believe it's already been two years since the last one. It definitely feels like that just happened last year to me. O_o

No idea if I'll actually have anything to release by the time this comes around again. OHR-wise my focus has been entirely on Okédoké for a while (though I had to take a break from it toward the end of 2013 because I was finishing up my last semester of school--tons o' work, and my right hand seemed to be threatening to mutiny if I tried to pile even more work onto it--and haven't gotten back to it just yet), but I don't really want to enter Okédoké into Heart of the OHR again since it was already in the first one... plus a couple other contests.
FYS:AHS -- Swapping out some step-on NPCs for zones + each step script
Puckamon -- Not until the reserve party is expanded.[/size]

What's the deadline for HotOHR entries? I'm definitely going to try and release Ruin within the contest window, unless it's just not quite ready at that time.

I'm gonna work on Emiki Adventure, and I hope to have at least a few maps done. I can't guarantee good walkabouts or hero graphics though, I still have a long way to go, skill-wise.
