It has been a while since I have worked with this, so my memory is fuzzy, but I thought that absorbing just one elemental was enough to absorb the whole attack.

Is there any special reason why you need to do healing as an elemental instead of using the attack bitsets to make a healing attack?

"cursed" equipment is supposed to make you be harmed by healing magic.
That's what I'm essentially using it for.

Anywho, yeah, there will be equipment with curse effects that disable healing, which will instead have the effects fail or harm the heroes, as well as items to increase the effects of healing absorption. I can do something along the lines of just having the moves fail and use the classic bitset of healing, but I want the equipment to be more punishing, due to, say, the item "Loomer D" which is an accessory in both AR-PUH-GUH! and "Merciful Mungbeans" that make you immune to status ailments and debuffs of all sorts, but you can't heal yourself due to the curse.

This sounds like two completely different questions.

If you want heroes to absorb 100% of the heal element most of the time (-100% damage), but have equipment that changes that to a positive value, then you either need to use the "Combine resistances by addition" hero elemental resistance formula, or you would need to use scripting to set the hero elemental resistance manually.

If you're using "Combine resistances by multiplication" or the old awful one, then it's not possible to make a negative damage (absorption) positive (damage) again by adding more equipment.

I've always and forever have used "by addition" ever since that was a feature. Sorry.
