'Sup, my fellow slimedudes (and dudettes)?

I got an e-mail yesterday announcing the current Humble Weekly Sale. It features Multimedia Fusion 2 (and games made with it), and even includes Multimedia Fusion 2 — with key — when you buy the Sale! Grin

As of this post, it only has four days and eighteen hours left on it:

Anyway, I just thought I'd link it here for anyone who might want to get MF2 for making games with, particularly while it's cheap. Smile

GameMaker was just free, and Unity just got better 2D support recently...

What does this software do for me?

I feel like there's a ton of stuff out there and I just need to stick to something at some point. Something stronger than PyGame anyway.

Thank you! Grin I made it years and years ago, back near when I first joined.

Well — it has minimal (if any) programming requirement. Smile Not even really and scripting, in fact; which makes it perfect for me, since I can't really wrap my head around programming games from scratch, and the O.H.R.RPG.C.E. has become massively complicated in the almost-five years since my PC — my old one that had my various O.H.R.RPG.C.E. projects on it, anyway — was put into storage. V

I can see what I want my game to look like, I can visualize how I want it to act — but trying to convert that to text (id est, coding or scripting it) is nearly impossible for me. Zombie

I guess basically what I'm trying to say is: if you suck at coding and/or scripting (or just don't like it), Multimedia Fusion 2 is perfect, because there's almost none of that. It's mostly just drag-and-dropping modules and conditions and things. Grin …From what I can gather with the tutorial, anyway — it seems very simple, but capable of some pretty awesome things. Smile

Also, GameMaker was free? Surprised When was this, and how come I missed it? Gonk
Edit: DANG! Just saw it; I missed it by about a week. Sad Oh well — I'm sure I'll make do. V

The only GameMaker I ever knew by that name was always free, with optional donations to the guy who made it, so far as I knew. Has something changed since 2005?

I'm guessing 'yes', because starting with GameMaker 6 — I think — it wasn't free.

acquired GameMaker 7, along with a digital copy of a book that included either a trial version of 7 or 6 and had a whole lot of useful info and tutorials and such — but I couldn't really get into it. Zombie It was a bit more complicated — and still too scripting-/coding-oriented — for me. Confused

Yeah, pretty sure I was last using Game Maker 4 or Game Maker 5.
