About the dialogue, I'm no native speaker, so I can't check if it sounds natural. That's why I didn't want to have write it.

@Mari: Well, I can do writing and I can do graphics. Take your pick.

I'd be happy to assign you mainly to the writing task as well, we'll need lot's of texts. Not only for the main protegonists, but also for NPCs and random messages ect.
If you are an native englishspeaker, could you also check it Chronoboys and my texts sound natural?

You could also help BMR with graphics, if he's need help with that, but I suggest you don't both work on the same field thoug.
Luckily, there are the usuall diffrent types of graphics like maps, enemies, attacks, Hero, NPC, ect. I uploaded some example.

Well, in the writing aspect, I am indeed a native english speaker. I'm always willing to prune your grammar if you are not quite content with it or are unsure.

As for graphics, I can do most all graphics, minus walkabouts. I have fairly fine hero graphics, decent enemy graphics, decent map tiles, and all that.

So, when is this project starting, or has it started?

It will be good for the texts Chronoboy and I write, if you'd check them.
And for graphics, it's best if you talk to BMR, I think he wanted to focus on tiles, but I don't want to say anything wrong.


Actually, we are on our way getting started (or already started).
I'd say planning is mostly done, everyone knows more or less that he'll do.

At first, we need to figure out a way to share our files with eachother. Chronoboy suggested using Mercurial, wich can be used with bitbucket.
So, we should figure out how to use this programm and make accounts on bitbucket, if we want to use bitbucket. (We should read their End UserAgreement first.)
If we can't figure out how to use Mecurial, we'll have to do management of resources (pictures, textbox.txts ect.) manually. I guess that would work, but it also could be messy.

We could also share files over FTP, and hopefully everyone involved understands how to download/upload data from an FTP server. If not, it's still easier to learn than Mercurial. On the server-side of the FTP, I can version control the files myself, so if we need to go back because something broke or got corrupted, we can.

So, let me know if everyone is Down with using FTP or not. I can bring up a server relatively quick.

I'd rather git or mercurial, but I'm fine with FTP

It's me doubleposting here, but this topic was lacking action a bit.
I've send you a PM, so please macke sure to read it and look on the things I've uploaded in dropbox.

We should start working on the project now, even if we don't have a server yet.

BMR will make an UFO and a Treehouse tileset.

I'll write some scripts and check on the classmates dialogues.

Would you like to work on the texts for the main characters?
We need an Intro scene, showing CoolGuy walking to school (I can make the script, you can do the textboxes), maybe as an Flashback telling from his memory how the story (game) began.
It should make the players gain intrest in the game, so maybe raise some questions that we'll answer soon.

Then we need the scene in school, where CoolGuy talks to Nerd, he makes fun of him and Nerd unexpectedly talks back and asks him out for a duel after school.
You can use the sene in the old version as inspiration.

I stared drawing Nerd's Hero sprite. I still lokes a bit odd. :/


A temporary title, can be replaced with a better.

I've written a pseudo script for the nerds dictionary, so far there are 10 textboxes. If anyone in the team feels like double checking or polishing up the sentences, that would be nice.
