Android/OUYA RPG collaboration game suggestion:

One missing alien

Game theme:
beeing diffrent vs. belonging to a group
aliens and space

Game's Art Stlye: bright, toony, cheerfull (still the game want to be seroius aout it's themes)

Plot (summary):
CoolGuy is famous in school, but he lost a duel to Nerd, so has to help him go alien hunting for a week.
The frist Alien they encounter arte fake alien, they trun out to be everyday things or people, but on Saturday CoolGuy, Nerd, Dog and Yuri (a girl who they met while their quest against the fare alien) see a real alien in the forest. They flee.
In the night the nerds hide out is seached, he suspects CoolGuy, who truns out to be an Alien. This is a shock for CoolGuy, later he joins his friends in the Aliens UFO and is free to either leave with the alien or stay on earth.

Plot (Notes):
You are CoolGuy, you live in a small town near a forest and you lead an odinary but cool pupils live.
You best friend is Dog you pet. You get along well with you classmate. (You even have a fan.)
Occasionally you play trick on Nerd.

Untill the day then Nerd was fed up with your trick and he asked you to a duel. There was no way you could loose but... you did. Now you have to help Nerd. A whole wek you have to spent your time helping Nerd hunting Aliens. What a hell!
But you gave your word and at least Dog is with you.

Unfotunatelly the Alien you fight turn out to be school books, litter bins and the post man, . . .

Wednesday:
Start in School, in your classroom:
Nerd comes late (like always) and asks you to duel after school on the schoolyard.

Lesson starts → Cut to Duel → You loose →
After the duel Nerd asks you to meet him tomorrow at the treehouse in the park.

Boss battle (CoolGuy + Nerd) against Teacher who want to take away Nerd's alien-gun and your dog. → going home→Next Day

Thursday:
In School:
CoolGuy is asked questions by his classmates, Nerd is enthusiastic, they make fun of him, he properbly dosen't realize.
(Teacher teaches with a black eye.)

Way to Park: On your way to the tree house CoolGuy and Dog talk.
In Park: Treehouse
Nerd will explain the treehouse/secret base to CoolGuy.
After that under the treehouse alien show up, → battle
The three belive to have seen how the post man drove by, they follow him , post man flees to school, Bossbattle against Post man at school gate
Teacher is angry with you → Battle 2 !

Friday:
Cool Guy is showing off in school talikng about battling alien and fighting teacher, everyone thinks that's pretty cool.
But Nerd dosen't show up in school.

After School CoolGuy searches for Nerd. worried the Alien might take revenge
Park: no Nerd, but preparation for a festival
A girl asks CoolGuy (and Dog) to solve a quest before he can pass to the city, she blocks the way

City Road: Aliens!
Nerd is save and at home, he meets CoolGuy and tells him the alien are up to something.
All shpos are closed in town, due to festival perparation.

The three head back to the park to battle the suspuicious Aliengirl.
Aliengirl turns out to be called Yuriand she came from a neigbour city to to study alien, bevause she saw strange shooting stars.

Saturday:
Everything for the festival perparations was stolen, after meeting in the Treehous the 4 seach for traces leading them to the forest. The deeper they go the more things/rubbish they find.

½ Boss battle: a gang in forest
They continue their seach and go deeper in the forest, … and see a REAL alien, they fell ack to the Park

½ Boss: Streetlatern („Our mind played tricks on us, because we were under shock“)

Night from Saturday to Sunday :
Someone is in the Treehouse, seaching for something! (It's Dog!)

Sunday:
Player plays Nerd who leaves to the Treehouse, he sees the chaos and and can choose who to suspect.
→ „It was CoolGuy“
CoolGuy truns out to be an alien, he refuses to belive Nerd, so Nerd porves this by shooting him with his alien guy, wich makes him drop unconcious.

Yuri and Nerd leave and leave a letter for CoolGyu and leave the treehouse taking away the ladder.
Player now plays Yuri and Nerd exploring the Forest going back to there the alien was, they find a ufo.

The sneak in ... and meet their teacher!

Monday
Cut to CoolGuy who woke up and is upset about beeing an alien and Dog betraying him. (Dog is also an Alien.) He now can you a Alienteleporting skill to go to places he visited.
Cool Guy cheers up again, reads the letter and decides to see Yuri, Nerd.
He searches them in school, but school in closed because the director is missing.

CoolGuy goes alone to the UFO in the forest and joins his firends.

Boss Battle against Yuri + Nerd?
Dog shows up to help CoolGuy, CoolGuy forgives him later.

The Teacher will tell CoolGuy that he's one missing alien, and the alien came to take him home, depending on the coices the player made CoolGuy will either go with them or he'll stay on earth.

Game Play:
The Plot is devided in a week, stating on Wednesday. Everyday there's a bossbattle.
Everyday you can find some random items seaching for example in flowerpots.
Everyday NPC will be placed on diffrent spots and their texts will be diffrent.

Each hero has a unique Element, this Element is based on a stat, wich can go up and down depending on attacks by enemies or by equipment.

CoolGuy: Coolness
Nerd: Geekness
Yuri: Facyfull Vision
Dog: Outerspaceness

Fake Alien turn into things after battle, there are two sprites used on the same spot, one showing the alien and the item, the other one only displaying the item.

In Battles agains Fake Alien that turn into animals, the player will also have to win agains the Fake Aliens.

The Game should have an educational aspect without the player noticing it. The game shall teach interesting facts acout space, planets, space travel ect.
For expamle a book in Nerds Treehouse shall display random with info texts about thoses themes, as well as there should be a museum/planetarium with informational posters.

I say go ahead with it, you guys seem to like the idea and Marion will make a fine producer. Where I was just scenario and this scenario is mostly written, I guess we'll be partin' ways. Don't worry though, I'll stick around to yell at you and keep you maggots wigglin towards the finish line.

@Giz: It's sad you say we'd be parting ways, ... but it's on the other hand good to hear that you will be there to motivate us making and finish the game.

Spoonweaver said the project looked intresting, so I'd count him in.
From the others (BMR and Meowskivich) listed in Choronoboy's first post there was no reply (yet). They wanted to do graphics, I think.

I suggest we wait two more days, (on the 29th the proposal is a week old then) - and after that we start.
Those who want to join in making this game (later), should still be able to do so.

Still game to do graphics, but from what you've drawn, I do believe our styles might clash. I'll offer to contribute scripting instead. But if you still want me for art, I'm down with that.

Like BMR did, I think it's good if everyone thinks about what and how he or she can contribute to the project.
For this, I shall make a list what we need to do.
But let's start this discussion in Choronoboy's original threat (or do we have a usergroup?).

I'd guess Meowskiwich is either choosing doing sprites or not taking part.
I don't know what Chronoboy would like to do.
I'll try to do the rest as good as I can, so you can focus on the graphics.
Thoug, I'd like someone who's not me to write the dialogue (or at least check the dialogue.)

I guess the first order of business is how we keep the ship sailing:
We should think about a way to exchange data, so everyone has the same to work on.
Like using git, but honestly I can't use git and (i guess most people can't), so we should look for a other easier to use alternative. We'd need something like a CVS.
As we are less that 5 people we could try to use bit bucket, (edit: It's using git, so maybe we don't use it) but I'm not sure how it works.

I mentioned that I could draw maps in the original thread.

I can do some dialogue, but someone should check it to make sure it sounds natural.

BitBucket also supports Mercurial which is easier to use than Git and is very similar in syntax to Subversion. I prefer Mercurial over Git, personally. I can provide you the basics of using Mercurial in IRC if you wanted to learn.
